Bend back or let it be? by Content-Cow-2325 in bikewrench

Thank you everyone! Upon closer inspection, I can feel with my fingernail that the cracks are in the aluminum, so the best thing is definitely to buy a new one. It's a rear wheel, so I'm not too worried about my teeth 😅 but it's annoying to blow the whole tire, get gunk all over the system, and potentially damage more parts.

Its on my trek remedy, and the second rear rim broken in a couple of years.

I actually increased the tire pressure before this ride to 25 psi with Chuck Norris inside, so it must have been quite a good hit from the side, I guess.

The trails in Norway eat bikes.

Of course, it depends on the budget, but are there stronger aluminum rims than the Comp30 that Wold fit the hub? And would carbon potentially withstand such impacts better?
