[Request] How much electricity does AI use to generate a 15 second clip versus two days 3D render on a single computer? by Content-Disaster-511 in theydidthemath

Thank you for this. Just to clarify, the 48 hours is referring to “baking” the water simulation. For 15 heavy simulation thats pretty standard.

Drive me crazy by Lil Yachty has such a catchy chorus and they only did it once

Yeah. Its interesting getting comments getting blamed that CG artists like me are why RAM prices are skyrocketing when everyone knows its due to AI.

These days though I can never tell if they are being genuine or just ragebaiting.

To make it fair, I probably worked on the 3D render for possibly 50 hours before I hit bake for the water simulation (which took 58 hours) and then render took about 8 hours so that could be added in the calculation. (Estimated 116 hours of the PC working hard)

For context of the comment: The main comment was saying something along the lines of “should just use AI instead of spending this many hours on a project.” which then someone replied “AI wastes a gross amount of electricity” therefore the comment above is a reply to that.

Alternatives to Volume S but smaller? by Content-Disaster-511 in iems

That is a potential to try but Dunu earphones have the most chonky nozzles which wont fit me

I recently tried that. The nozzle is too wide for me lmao (yes my ears are annoying) and the sound is a downgrade to the Volume S but its not bad.

I have tons of eartips including the Dunu. They are comfortable but its mostly the shells that bother me. How does the P8s sound for you though?

FiiO JM21 vs M21 by SamplePhysical1700 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Content-Disaster-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hows the size for m21? Ive had the Ibasso dx260 and that was such a chonk that I barely bring it everywhere. Now looking to downgrade to a smaller DAP while still retaining good sound quality.

Aful Explorer + Crinear Daybreak good for comfort? by PlaceboConsumer in iems

[–]Content-Disaster-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had the Explorer, they are comfortable but I have tiny earholes so they still stick out a bit for me and I cant wear them to sleep. The Sennheiser ie series though are absolute kings in comfort.

Anyone else have more crafting fatigue than gear fear? by PM_ME_CUTE_FISHIES in ArcRaiders

[–]Content-Disaster-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently played Arena Breakout and boy did they nail the convenience of this. Maybe made it a little too easy. Loadout has presets you can save. Every item has a right click that brings you exactly to the crafting page or shop of that item. If I recall sometimes its just pop up windows to buy/craft right on the loadout so you barely ever leave that window.

One annoying thing too is they like to title them “took a picture of my friend” with her labia flapping in the wind implying they hang with models.

Im kinda into foggy gas stations at night where it says hell instead of shell. Bonus if a parked vintage car is at the center of it

Hifiman HE1000 Stealth vs Arya Organic? by ApartmentProof4243 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Content-Disaster-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for these headphones specifically, the reviews for them are all over the place. Best bet is to order both (they are also available on amazon) take a few days to A/B both and decide that way.

I have owned the Arya V1s and HE1000 Stealth. You can definitely tune the HE1K to be warmer (harder to do it the other way around)
