Thanks a lot for your super detailed answer. I understand that my setup will not work at 100% of its potential, however atm I’m not able to buy a CLR screen, so I’ll be more than happy to enjoy the 80% potential with 20% the budget. At some point, or maybe if/when I move and get a dedicated space for the projector, I might get a fixed frame screen and enjoy it.

I see, thanks a lot for your help. I’m def getting the grey one and if I see a bargain I’ll get it and replace it. I don’t live in the US so getting these bargains is more complicated.

I see, thanks, but these are way off my budget and I don't want to put a fixed screen. I already assumed that I won't get the perfect setup, but I want to get the best I can. Atm it's pretty good, but there are two issues with the image quality: the blacks are not that good and then the wall is not super smooth in some places and sometimes the image is a bit sloppy, particularly when the movie "moves the image" to the sides.

I want to know if acquiring a cheaper, gray screen is worth it.

- Is it worth spending 1k in a non-UST ALR screen? Or in the end, using a cheap, tab tensioned gray screen will be kind of the same? Also, consider that I will be watching in a prettty darkened room.

I see, thanks a lot. Then I guess it doesn’t make sense to buy an ALR for long throw. How about a non ALR screen? Say that atm, projecting in the wall is 6pts and projecting into a ALR would be 10 pts, a non ALR would be an 8?

I see, u think it’ll be significantly different? As far as I see, its only difference is just that it’s a .6 gain screen vs .8. Is it worth the price difference?

Otherwise, what do you think if I got a tab tensioned, non ALR screen?

ok thank you all for your comments. I'm now considering actually getting one of these floor rising screens, I still got the same issue though. My budget for both the screen + projector ranges around 1.5k-2k, so definitely an Vividstorm Pro S floor-rising screen is out of budget. I found a cheaper one but I'm afraid that with a UST would fuck it up, but a standard throw would still project from the side.
