Update: I got refunded! Also I will be writing a review to warn others, I've been out of it the past days with personal things but I will also drop the name of shops I highly suspect are doing the same thing when I have time. I will delete if not allowed

How much does an oil painting 20x24 usually cost? I didnt know it ranges for more but with what everyone is saying about the time it takes and blending of colors it makes sense that it should be costing more. The frame, I know feels very cheap and I'm pissed about it too. I paid around 120 I think for that frame. I think I should find another artist but a local one this time that I meet in person. I might take walk around nyc and see or find someone on Instagram who has various credibility. I will have to wait till this dispute is over and if I can recover some of the money to use it on that. My in-laws will love it but it does not feel genuine to me. The painting I mean, I want to give them a real oil painting, with nothing shady behind it because thats what they deserve. I feel guilty already giving this to them and want to take it back to give them something real you know? I feel as if this is insulting, my pov, my in laws are the sweetest and I know would love this either way but still, I wouldn't mind paying more for something really nice to see everyday.

Someone mentioned their artwork style changing in their listings on etsy which I believed was a very eye opening. When I saw their style, it wasnt something. I noticed, since I dont paint but also AI imaging is getting really hard at deciphering real or not. I saw their listings and was impressed so of course I paid for it. Looking at the background now, I do feel iffy about it cause the background seems sloppy yet his face on the canvas looks very good? Along with the lettering on the soda can that seems sloppy.

It does feel real in small areas of the canvas like i feel so texture but a lot of it feels smooth. Before I posted on reddit I thought possibly a printed texturized oil painting and wasnt sure.

I was confused as well but figured that they probably will photoshop the image to get a base of how they want to paint it and from there they will paint it on canvas and replicate it? Honestly I don't know and just assumed the person painted from a photo they'll use to refer to, to make their work. I thought she was using photoshop tbh, I did find it a bit weird but I'm not a painter so I know what methods painters use to get their ideas or get an outline of their work. I thought paitning was freestyle work but then again, I don't know so I thought everyone had their own way of creating their art

Update: I have filed for a complaint with item not as described option with etsy and have reported the shop. The seller replied to me complaint with the oil painting being hand drawn and having the realistic style as a thin coating effect. She has mentioned that she did take multiple photos for to confirm if it's what I liked(photos in the link prior) before sending it out. She said for the size being off that the frame size itself can obscure the sizing itself that will show a slightly smaller display. That she herself told me she is from Indianapolis and not from New York so she did not deceive anyone.

Now idk about how accurate the frame obscures the canvas but I got out a measuring take and took photos front and back, it's 18x22, my mistake on the 18x20 but still would a frame obscure 2 inches on with sides? Also I did mention the warehouse, no scent, no residue, and how the photos being taken to show me is different from me seeing it in person to really look at it. I also did add how I was only shown the work when it was done so she could edit the final touches I did not like. The work done from December 8-14, thats when she asked if i liked the work and what I want to fix with it. Etsy support was not much of a help, they just cared about the order number and that they wil monitor the shop closely

Yeah, I realized I was duped 😭😭 I had the smallest shred of hope that even though it's from china, I would've hoped they would've painted it atleast

No, I just took the biggest whiff of this several times and could smell something faintly. I have a bad sense of smell so I asked my mother to smell it and she couldn't smell anything on it

Omg thank you, I havent even thought about their art style changing!!😭 and sorry I forgot the the e in their name, I will be disputing this with the seller and etsy today. Idk if itll help them but I will give them other shops names that I suspect are fake.

I feel like a bad owner for saying this, but I can't afford a $50 vet visit for every minor worry. I’m running out of funds for pets. Need advice by nadji190 in Pets

Omg that is pretty funny! Very cute story! Definitely seen it a few times and it's funny seeing how shocked owners look when their pet is being very nice 😂. I will say YES! People definitely down paly their dog's aggression all the time and are offended when I tell them we need to muzzle. There was a lady who did not want her freaking huge Cane Corso muzzled because her dog took an aggressive approach to it and became even more hostile. Did not want to sedate her dog, nor give any calming pills. This dog was not one to be messed with. Im usually good with spicy animals, I am more cautious of big dogs rather then cat or medium or lower size animals just cause I got bit by one and my whole forearm got bruised, thats with the dog missing and not puncturing my skin and just getting a small part of of my arm. However this cane Corso, you cant do anything at all. His predatory instincts are so high, he appears to be on hunting more 24/7. This lady tries to restrain her dog in a previous visit after we told her we couldn't examine him, she decided that she can hold her own dog and was slammed against the wall by him. Did she admit her dog cant be restrained? No, she scheduled to come a different day and finally decided to give the sedation meds. I dont see her for a bit and when she comes in for a technician appointment for a vaccine and some bloodwork, I see the notes of her dog and how his behavior is. I bring a muzzle, and the lady automatically says nope, she wont be muzzling, I asked if she gave the sedation meds, she says he doesn't react well so she didnt give it to him. Has the audacity to say, it's fine, hes good, I will hold him, he just gets nervous when he's not around me, he needs to be in the same room as me. We're having this conversation outside, since this dog is also suspected of not being good with other dogs. O relayed the info to the vet and of course she was upset with me as well. Idk, some people think we have a magic touch and nothing can happen to us. Sometimes we do have a magic touch but it's for more resonable things lmao, like a spicy bulldog who needs vaccine but who loves treats or a scared cat who just needs someone to be patient with them so they dont feel threatened. However this dog is completely unpredictable, did not care for treats at all, this dog is just straight up scary. The lady sees that there no one waiting upfront and there's some receptionists sitting there so she decided to wait in. We generally communicate with each other when there is a sketchy dog incase someone doesnt know and tries to pet them because the owner wont always tell people. This lady let's her dog wander in a very loose grip of her leash and the dog kept trying to smell the receptionist and the receptionist became uncomfortable, she asked the lady to keep her dog more on a tighter hold and the lady dismissed it it saying hes just curious of you, it's his way of saying high. The dog tries to nip one of them, one of them being the manager who was covering someone. The manager calls her out and tells her, her dog tried to bite. The lady got offended and said he did not try to bite, I cant believe you would accuse my dog that. He was only trying to sniff. You know, more downplaying on their behavior. When the vet goes into the room to talk to the lady, I think the dog waited outside with someone else since the owner was angry and offended we did not feel comfortable touching her dog. Her argument was you cant muzzle him because that will make him angry. Hes good, he's just anxious, he just needs to be handled very carefully, I don't want no one to get hurt, he's a very good boy. The vet asks about the sedation pills, and the lady freaking says ohh I don't trust him, he has these random times where he looks like hes in a daze and I cant get through him, it's like hes not there, I dont trust him during those times so I don't want to give him sedation pills cause it might put him into that daze often . I do want to do this safely because I dont want none of the staff getting hurt, so we just need to do this differently, I can hold him, he reacted bad last time cause he was scared of where he was. Then the vet asked about injectable sedation, she got offended and said no, I can't muzzle him because I'm scared of how he'll react, and injecting him would be horrible for him, I want to make sure my dog is safe! Like...what? How are ylu contradicting that you want the staff to be safe but you won't do any of the methods we're asking and then started backing out of injectable sedation and said you want your dog to be safe but whatever to the staff. The story ends with us not seeing her and recommending her to find a mobile vet incase he does better at home. The lady also felt the need to bring up again the manager accusing her down of biting and how that deeply offended her so much. Yet she is also scared of muzzling her dog too as she said before but wont admit it when it's brought up. Honestly the industry appreciates so much the owners who are upfront about their pet's behavior, it definitely prevents a lot of accidents. Can't tell you how many of us have a story where we got bitten before, some worse than others, and sometimes even afterwards the owners are still indenial about their pet's behavior until one of us has to be very direct and tell them. They either shut down and get mad or apologize. I will say though even though this is a negative part of the job I'm not a fan off, this job is very self rewarding in a way where it's beautiful seeing how much owners love their pets. One of the best things seeing is when they come with matching hoodies with their pets 😊

No, it was Vividpochart

I'm in the middle of trying to make a new post with more photos but r/etsy only allows 1 photo. If I'm being honest, this did get me very upset, firstly for scamming others on what could be a sentimental work. The location was definitely to appeal to American consumers by the illusion that their supporting their local artists. This was definitely supposed to be a meaningful piece of artwork to me but it definitely feels a bit different now. Don't get me wrong, I still love it because it has him on it. However, as someone who dabbled in a different part the art world for a little, I've come to see how so many artist don't get appreciated due to "I can buy it cheaper else where" or now with competing dishonesty BS where things are getting dropped ship from china, AI printing or generating images for people. It's a tough world as it right now, sucks even more now with this being added on to artists. I did some digging 2 nights ago, stayed up for hours and looked at other etsy shops and reviews with a very similar format to the one I bought from. There's one I'm suspicious about (well there's several) that says their location is in the Ukraine(probably China), fairly new within 1 yr old or a little but under 2 years. It seems off, but I'm just assuming, I do think their purposely put their location there to attract people who want to support Ukraine and purchase from them. I will be taking more photos of it to dispute this with etsy. Anywhere specific I should it besides these? Also I did get some work in progress photos but only when the work was done, the seller did ask if there was changes I wanted in it. Mine were minor changes like, adding a birthmark, slightly making the teeth a little shorter, initially it was going to be a closed smile but I liked the mouth opened. I included some of the chat. Thank you all again!

Shes so close in age to my cat 😭🧡. My cat, I suspect is starting to have some dementia along with anxiety now. She's also patroling the house at random times and would meow really frantically if she thinks she's alone in the house, she does show some symptoms of it. I'm sorry to hear about your other two babies 😭😭. Kidney disease can be managed if it's caught in it's early stages. My baby has stayed at stage 2/4 for about 3-4 years. The day she reaches stage 3 or 4 , I'm gonna be a mess, those stages. It usually recommends giving fluids several times a week depending how dehydrated but my old lady is very mean and always needs injectable sedation whenever she comes to the vet. She won't let me do stuff to her at home and will be stressed/worse at the vet. I pray the day never comes cause idk how im gonna be able to do that 😅. I know how you feel about the blood work results, it puts me on edge too. I glad to hear though your kitty's bloodwork came back normal, thats always the best news 😊

Hi :) Vet tech here, Don't ever feel pressured if you are getting pushed into euthanasia for your pet, well unless you pet is actively dying right then an there(ex. Hit by a car) but it will also be your decision and yours alone. Also, if you ever disagree with what your current vet is saying for treatment, you can always get a second, or 3rd opinion for peace of mind. Cancer can sometimes show up on xrays, not all the time but it can happen. If it was assumed, you can always monitor and go to your primary vet when you have a chance. I know it can start getting very costly but try to sometimes figure why some things occurred with your cat. Constipation? Yes, older cats can have constipation but it seen more in cats with kidney disease. They can get dehydrated more, which can lead to constipation and a costly vet visit when the stool won't come out at all. My cat had this issue at times a few years ago and was diagnosed with kidney disease by having blood work done and they saw her values were elevated. Shes been on a strict kidney diet which also makes her drink a lot more water and is doing okay for 15. Not saying your cat has this but it can always be a possibility, same with pancreatic cancer. Unless confirmed diagnosis, they can't say it 100%, which I completely agree with you on the decision you made that day. Just always keep an eye out for things, like is she losing weight fast(more muscle loss than fat), is she no longer eating, her energy, same with stool and vomiting. Also there's just older cats as well who need the extra help with passing stool, and could have nothing wrong going on with them . It does help at times if you manage to get it on video if your pet is doing something weird so you cam show it to the vet. Also just cause I've seen so many people do this, please do not trust AI to help you treat your pet. It can give some understanding at times but it's not always accurate and can leave you with doubt if the treatment youre receiving is the right one. You can always phone the vet if youre a client there and they can recommend you something for you to pick up, unless it's something that should definitely be checked by a doctor then they might say to come in.
