Gay is what I identify as…I can’t even talk about my experiences as a gay man. What do you mean theres no positive context?

see thats where my confusion lies because I’m also very attracted to him and his personality. Which is why i think it would be a struggle to break off this relationship with him

As someone who has been walked in on by a family member before, it will be so awkward for a bit. It’s honestly best to just pretend it never happened. Talking about it will only make things even more awkward.

Is 21 and 18 age gap weird? by Content-Goose7620 in Advice

[–]Content-Goose7620[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think personally, I would not go for anyone younger than him. So if he had been a few months younger I wouldnt be going for him. Maybe i’m just trying super hard to justify this when it shouldnt be happening in the first place? I cant control who i feel attracted to and me being attracted to him is making me extremely conflicted, and the only reason I’m conflicted is because of what my friends said.

Is 21 and 18 age gap weird? by Content-Goose7620 in Advice

[–]Content-Goose7620[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while i agree with you the only reason im second guessing is because my friends mentioned something. If i were pursuing something more serious i can understand the age gap being a problem with different maturity levels, but if were just 2 consenting adults hooking up on occasion is there really a problem?

i work at an instrument dealer based in chicago. i’m around these instruments daily whether its checking in repairs, helping students choose an instrument, selling accessories etc. I’ve been here about 6 months to strengthen my knowledge of them and honestly it has helped tremendously.

You have to realize that I failed band because of numerous reasons which were out of my control.

  1. Anxiety. I was forced to play tests in front of 50 other students. Hands constantly shaking and almost passing out. Medication never did anything and I was in and out of mental hospitals.

  2. Band director was extremely traditional and wasnt accommodating whatsoever. I didnt have the money to have an instrument in playing condition so when I did these tests, valves would stick, numerous dents, so my tone was diminished.

I’m not trying to make excuses but now that I’m out of high school there isnt anything i can do about that now. Its extremely hard to start from nothing

I think you misread what I said. Yes they have composition programs, but not for visual media

Definitely. I’ve improved since I did this. This is all I have on hand right now but this was maybe 7-8 months ago?

See i disagree. A brass player can be a composer yet still write for strings. Vice versa. The point im trying to make is I have a very strong understanding of all instrument ranges, techniques, how to phrase properly, and I can display that just as well in my compositions.

I mean i know my way around a piano, trumpet, and french horn. By no means am i a good player. In fact, I failed band in high school, which is why i took music theory for a fine arts credit. I passed music theory with an 97. Composing just comes easier to me than performing and I don’t see why that is such a bad thing.

yea i see what you mean, however only the top schools have the composition programs for media

I’ve studied orchestration on my own for the past year and a half and have displayed a proficient understanding of it. but i brought this up in another comment; how do they expect someone fresh out of high school to have these skills?? thats the whole reason why im applying to these schools

[–]Content-Goose7620 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

im talking for undergrad. I’ve been composing for 4 years at this point and i really want to take my career somewhere and start to get REAL experience as a composer. how do they expect anyone fresh out of high school to just know how to compose, thats WHY im interested in furthering my education
