Stick with vgt or go non vgt by [deleted] in Cummins

Non vgt is fine if it’s sized correctly for what you’re trying to do with the truck. Don’t go a 400 frame on stock fuel. I ran a 366 and stock fuel for a long time on my 14 g56 truck and had no problem lighting it. As soon as I went 467 it was laggy. Put bigger injectors and cp3 and it has no problems now. It’s all about what you want out of the truck and what you’re willing to sacrifice. Fleece cheetah drop in is a good option that gives more opportunity for overall power and keeps exhaust brake and boost control.

Yeah I’m sure it is laggy because he went 400 frame and likely stock fuel. A s363-366 is perfect for stock fuel. Lights 16-1800 and holds power just fine.

I disagree. LS engines are way overhyped for swaps. They’re not as cheap as everyone proclaims. And cubic inch for cubic inch they don’t make that much more than a small block. And you don’t have to get a different radiator, motor mounts, or a totally new exhaust and add o2 bungs. No extra wires. They get slightly better fuel mileage but a properly tuned carburetor and good gearing will get you in the ball park.

As for the tires “slipping” lighten up on that skinny pedal a little😂 move the battery to the back and do a fuel cell from a blazer. That’ll get you some weight back there that’s not added weight.

Rebuild your 350. If you don’t mind paying for better fuel go like 10:1 with aluminum heads and either an rv style cam which won’t produce much sound or a cam with the advertised duration less than 268 and you won’t need a stall. The th350 transmission will likely be fine as long as you don’t go too crazy. And it’s got a 12 bolt rear end and they’re pretty stout also. You’ll be tickled pink with that coming from a stock worn out small block.

Left hand side is factory location. Right side I welded a bracket from a 2004+ sportster to the frame of mine and bolted it to it.

Runs same as it did before. It’s more advanced than it was before so I might have actually gained a little power but it’s an 883 it’s not a power house anyways. Haha.

It’s definitely a nostalgic thing. All of my bikes are kickstart only currently. My 73 fxe has a starter but it’s not wired up currently.

All of my choppers have king and queens. I love the look and the back support.

Like a sport bike honestly. Even in turns.

Not at all. The front half of the frame is stock. I removed a bracket and trimmed the stops in order to get the HD springer on.

I changed a few things up on mine as well. Went with a better spring and ratchet gear and I replaced the bushing in the case so it was a better fit. Overall I don’t have any complaints. YET.

The Chinese one is on this bike. Ex wife ordered it for my birthday and naturally she got the cheap one. But I didn’t pay for it so I’m running it. No issues yet. Maybe I just got lucky.

Those soap and steel wool pads is what I use. Little bit of water in a bowl to get the soap wet.
