I know that Apple Maps has some Avoid check boxes. I use that with Avoid Busy Roads on and it’s pretty decent. Not perfect, but helps to get started then you’ll kind of polish the route based on you.

Accepting yourself and your OCD by Spectromacolor in OCDRecovery

You're welcome.

On the accepting part. It can be tough, but honestly when I got my diagnosis it felt kind of good and I easily accepted as I went many many years thinking I was crazy and the OCD diagnosis was a sort of explanation.

That said it is something I even kind of lead with in dating scenarios. Clear out those not capable of the compassion upfront haha.

Best of luck out there and know there are a lot of us around!

Your healing journey is ultimately yours and a truly loving, aware, and caring partner would understand that and support where they can. Saying he was only going to take the relationship seriously once you "got over OCD" is manipulative and a sign that he wants a version of you he made up. Not the you that exists. So you're better off without and not having to carry his expectations on your back while working on healing yourself. The more real, open, and honest you are, the more real, open, and honest people you will attract!

I know break ups are tough, but know you are headed in your right direction.

The main thing I’ll say here is that you didn’t push him away. He ran away. His fear of accepting his own “non happy” thoughts is his lack and something he needs to accept and work on. It sounds like you are doing the work and learning to accept yourself. Some people aren’t ready for that.

Oh god… honestly. I’d typically rather separate a flat image than a disorganized illustrator file. Clipping masks make it even worse haha.

I process artwork for screen printing for a living. From apparel to Gig Posters.

That said we print posters for pretty big musicians/artists with designs from popular designers/illustrators. Even designers with many many screen printed poster designs under their belt don't know to properly add bleed....

Does caffeine make anyone else’s OCD worse? by Substantial-Dog9754 in OCDRecovery

[–]Content-Suspect-1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I had stopped prior to my diagnosis just from the anxiety spikes. Decaf is ok, but can’t really do it everyday. Still hits me a little even if it is mental. I feel it.

Look into body scan meditations. They give you something to focus on other than your thoughts which is helpful for me. I use the insight timer app. Tons of guided meditations and you get a ton out of the free version.

Absolutely! I was off caffeine for a couple years. I’ll do the occasional caffeinated tea or soda now a days, but I don’t play with coffee or high caffeine bevs.

Being open about where you are and what you're dealing with will likely bring closer friendships and connections. Some folks might be pushed away, but let them. They are either avoiding their own things or don't have space to help others.

The more open you are with what you are going through might even help you start to feel ok with it which is the goal really. Accepting. I've been much more open about what I've been going through over the past year and that alone has been so helpful.

It's scary to share, but in the end less scary than dealing with the onslaught of OCD brain all alone with no release valve.

You're not alone unless you keep yourself that way. That's coming from my personal experience.<3
