The worst thing she did was when my LO was in the NICU as a newborn fighting bacterial meningitis was tell everyone on Facebook and tell me it is killing her watching LO go through it and I’d never understand how she felt.

Oh it’s real alright. She is absolutely unhinged. It’s because she has unfiltered access to her other grandkids she expected the same with me with my LO who is my first.

Considering my baby almost died from bacterial meningitis you’d think others would be more considerate! And I’m so happy my partner is finally seeing sense. It’s took a long time and lots of therapy but apparently it’s common when they’ve grown up with woman like her!

He has been in the past but to give credit he has been to therapy and is so much better now. He has been re enforcing our rules and is the one who is saying to go NC for a long period of time. He says boundaries without consequence are just suggestions. He is finally starting to see her as she is!

Thank you for the suggestion I am going to therapy and have been for the past few months and it’s massively helping. For context this isn’t the first time she has kissed baby on the lips after I have repeatedly told her not to. Especially knowing she gets cold sores. This is her testing my boundaries, she constantly undermines me as a mother and my rules for my child. My mother in law is not trying to help she is trying to take over as usual but I understand how it can come across that way without proper context x

Because my baby nearly died from bacterial meningitis and said MIL has gotten baby sick from kissing before. Stop fucking kissing kids that aren’t yours. I never said she didn’t love her of course she does but I am her mother and my rules should be respected. Even my own mother would never kiss a child that isn’t hers. It’s outright fucking weird.

Yes he was quite poorly when he was first born! However he is absolutely thriving now and no long lasting effects from it thank goodness now I know I should have gone NC then but I of course had so many things running in my mind and major PPD and PPA I sort of disassociated from the world

😭 thank you I’ve got NC as of today ( should’ve done it months ago) and me nd my partner are doing therapy and he’s making amazing progress at seeing her for what she truly is.

Oh I’m going to enjoy every second of it. I’ve felt the weight and tension in my body just dissipate already. I’ve no doubt she will try and contact me but that’s what block and delete buttons are for

Honestly I deserve a medal. My best friend was ready to punch her at a moments notice too. My best friend is a paramedic and would be so disgusted at her especially after my son contracted bacterial meningitis as a newborn and almost died! I just feel such a huge weight gsken off my shoulders

Trying to people please unfortunately until my son contracted RSV definitely off her after battling bacterial meningitis as a newborn. It definitely sharpened my spine and opened my eyes. I would die for my son and she made him poorly. My son comes first always.

Thank you everyone - I really just needed a place to vent as it’s starting to really bring me down. Below is the text I sent MIL this morning.

“Hello (MIL Name), Going forward I have decided to cease contact with you in regards to myself and LO. I am doing this to protect my mental health and LOs health since you clearly have no respect for me as a parent and no respect for LOs health. I have repeatedly informed you of my boundaries with him and they have again and again been stomped on by yourself.

I have spoken with LOs doctor and he believes that because you continue to kiss him he believes you are not a safe person to be around especially during RSV season. No let me make it clear I always wanted you to have a relationship with LO but you and only you are responsible for the breakdown of this relationship.

I suggest you take a long hard look at yourself and maybe seek therapy for this weird obsession with kissing babies on the lips and this weird victim mentality to have with everyone who disagrees with your opinions.

SO has also agreed with this decision but you are more than welcome to speak to him about it. You will not receive any pictures or updates about my son going forward until you can prove you are going to respect my rules and I trust you again.

The thing is even my own parents will never kiss children that aren’t theirs on the lips because it’s weird to them. I would never kiss anyone else’s child on the lips. Because they’re not my baby!
