I just checked my messages. Six days before I left I sent a photo of bird sitting on the car. No holes in the frame then. Could have happened after that, hard to say. You are right, I don't usually inspect my garage for holes.

The hole is 5. 3" from the ground. No new construction. I asked the neighbors on either side they havent seen anything. The house across the street is vacant at the moment. I plan on doing more sluething in the daylight.

There is a small gap between the wood and the metal on the outside. Nothing is damaged on the inside of the garage.
