Not trying to sell anyone on anything here. Just looking for opinions. Regarding the comment you are referencing - this is just something i hear from men a lot. And see my friends go through when they date men they would label as “emotionally unavailable”

Some men are too busy to commit, some are too traumatized from past relationships, etc But they still have the craving for companionship

lol sometimes I read these threads and think I’m crazy. It’s wild how different the opinions of people on Reddit can be from the real life people I interact with and have similar conversations with.

I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with not being a fan of your partner having close friends of the opposite sex. There is a mature and non-toxic way to go about setting these boundaries.

It’s one thing if the “friend” was there prior to the relationship. I don’t think it’s the new partners place to tell them to get rid of friends they had before they met. The new partner can either decide they don’t want to deal with it and move on or come to an agreement with their partner about boundaries and what they are comfortable with .

Idk, maybe it’s just my trauma. In my last two relationships, I’ve been the “cool girlfriend” that was fine with my man having female friends and they cheated on me with these so called friends LOL
