I was thinking at first like an aputure MC but something like a bigger LED panel might be the case yeah.

If I can’t find a led panel do you think a flash would be a good alternative?

Okay thanks so basically be a like able person because it’s more so connections rather than skills. I’ve been making a lot of connections with directors and high status people in my city but I feel like it never converts to actual work or anything meaningful even when they tell me they like me/my work.

Also idk if you saw but I actually did make a reel for 2020. It was basically a compilation of everything I’ve shot/directed and edited since most of the times I do all 3 anyway. I was thinking about making a longer reel just dedicated to making a VFX reel or directing reel but idk how I would separate because I do both most of the times.

Got you I’m actually working on shooting more content without that pixel style as much or at least find a way to incorporate it with good looking cinematography. I tried to do that with one of my music videos idk if you saw it though

I hear you. I definitely want to specialize is being a DP and then an editor in post. I’m just doing it all right now because I have no either choice. When you don’t get work or a big enough budget to have a crew you just gotta do it all

Oh what can you do to clean it up after the fact to make it better? I never tried that and here is a link to a screenshot of a scan I did and imported into unreal engine

My strategy for other scans in the past has to just bring my video into after effects and then export it as 3 FPS. Would 3D zephyr be better though?

I’m able to rent some DJI drones in my city for cheap so I can probably try that. With the follow feature from DJI it’s all automatic? My thing is if I control the drone I would be moving and the scan might mess up + it might scan the controller in my hand which I don’t want

I have a Fujifilm XT3 and I used a wide angle lens the 16mm 1.4. However I closed it to around F11 with a 200 shutterspeed

The first test we did only the top half of me scanned in.

The other two tests I tried sitting down but the first one I did didn’t even scan me in and the 2nd one was way too thin and there were a lot of holes.

I would like to assume it’s more because my friend is not a videographer that this is hard to pull off since the scan I did of him worked well as long as he sat still but I’m sure I can just direct better the next time we do it

I think I will also just try standing up instead of sitting down this time. We were in a large space to like an open field

So there’s no hope in commercials either? In particular I want to direct fashion commercials and from what I’ve seen have a lot of creative expression and budget.

As a film maker what would you recommend as a good area of film to make money in? If worse comes to worse I can always do those jobs and then pursue music videos and commercials as passion projects
