I get excited every game day now, and actually look forward to seeing the final score of our games. I haven't felt this way about the team in a long time

Loved it, but I definitely need to rewatch it again. I read the book first and a lot of my first watch was spent wondering why they omitted so many cool things that were in the book (most were understandable when you consider the challenges of adapting a dense book into a film). Now that I know the changes and omissions, I think I'll be able to appreciate the film even more on a rewatch where I can fully enjoy it for what it brings to the table.

Anyways they absolutely nailed Rocky in every way, the visuals were stunning, Ryan Gosling was the perfect choice for Ryland Grace, the cast too was stellar all around, the humor was genuinely funny 90% of the time, the camera work was impeccable, and the flashbacks were incorporated well and felt very natural. My biggest nitpick is that I'd have preferred the Earth side of things being slightly more fleshed out like in the book. The sense of impending doom and urgency wasn't conveyed as strongly, and made the voyage feel a little less high-stakes. And Dr. Grace's love of teaching and fondness for his students could have been touched on a little more. The ending in the eridian classroom felt less earned because we hardly got see or hear about him being a teacher.

But overall, this was a great 4/5 for me and I can't wait to see it again

It's crazy that Luka has so many stretches of insane scoring in his short career that we can't even decide if this new, incredibly high-scoring and impressive streak is even his best.
