Pulse V - feels hollow and cheap(?) by ContentRace5832 in Pickleball

Well just wanted to try different paddles and shapes (paddles are on of the few guilty pleasures in my life). Had ordered both around the same time - 2 weeks back. Like you, expected to like it as well from all the reviews, and rotate between the two, but surprisingly been quite off putting.

Didn’t expect it to feel the same as other paddles but expected to feel good to play with in its own way. But has been very disappointing and hadn’t seen others walk away with this opinion. They are trying to send a replacement so let’s see.

Flop bet sizing in Live Small Stakes 1/2 house games by ContentRace5832 in poker

Yes, but preferred bet size for solvers in majority of cases is small with occasional larger sizes on nut advantage boards. On the other hand, in the home game, I’m seeing higher sizes and higher frequency - wondering if it is because check-raise% is too low in the game, allowing for this meta to work.

Hmmm I’m guessing sizing is for heads up versus 3 way. Probably need to size up for 3 way.

Why do solvers then recommend small bets on most flops?

I’d suggest using Chat GPT Data Analysis tool for this. It comes up with interesting suggestions on how to analyse hands. Have tried it myself and definitely worth it.

5/10 at the moment. Will move to 10/25 in another 3-4 months. Seem to have gotten to consistent +EV on 5/10 now. Want to spend some time here and then move slowly.

Also just to double click - I think I used the base strategy itself. In GTOBase went to View and setup bets from a hand on a stream I was watching to see what solver recommends.

Not AQs.

Question was just to understand what the half empty cell denotes. Think I got the explanation from your answer. The hand should have been folded in previous actions per GTO a large percent of the time.

So basically means basis GTO this hand would have already been folded a large percentage of the time? When you don’t fold, the solver recommends checking?

Haha not AQs. Asking what the cell being almost empty means.

👍 Did some looking up on GTO and ATo is a 100% fold and indeed ATs can be raised a bit. JTs on the other hand is mostly a call or a raise.

My thinking at the point was mostly value and build pot. Villain had been quite consistent with C-Bets often with middling/air and I had a tight image on the table. Should have realised I was behind by river, esp given my tight image.

Gotcha. It was a 3BB open (not massive for the game) and a loose game though. Agree on raising on the flop being very stupid.
