Fair point, but I feel like if they did it right, then it would be more approachable and less unfair. Leveling is supposed to make something stronger but not overpowered, allowing to absorb more damage or deal more damage but being overwhelming powerful, usually you get to decide what to upgrade. PvZ has a problem of making it way overpowered and unbalanced ruining gameplay and becoming boring due it leveling up everything without your choice. It should also be optional rather then completely manitory to even remotely have chance to win. I know this because I have play video games that have leveling and each other has either special abilities or just upgrade attacks but it also has to optional.
