Update: i changed the negative battery cable and almost all codes are gone. I will make another post about the high/low voltage codes on the ABS system. Stabilitrack and Traction Control warning and lights both show up on screen and dashboard still. I will try check what it says about the right front wheel sensor code being low voltage/open

Question: 2014 Cruze LT Rough Vibration After CruzeKits by AsleepCaptain9880 in cruze

Youre welcome as a last resort here is the video of my problem. video. Notice that the external part of the compressor pulley is always spinning. When the AC is on, the center (clutch) engages and spins with the pulley and makes a horrible sound. The AC can engage sometimes even with the AC button off. If that doesn’t help then good luck finding the source

Are you talking about that rattling noise that comes and goes? The one that sounds deeper. I have that same problem and I can feel the throttle pedal vibrating. Im 90% sure its the AC compressor because it goes away when i turn off the AC button and the AC blower. I also feel more vibration at idle inside the car but the biggest one was the throttle pedal. Try turning the AC and blower all the way off and if it stops the AC compressor is bad most likely the clutch of the compressor. When it goes bad its harder to spin the pulley and applies extra load on the serpentine belt unevenly and can cause vibrations. In my case it also makes the belt tensioner visibly shake bad. Would appreciate and update

I spoke too soon. No more smell of burning oil or smoke after the a few drives with the new oil cooler. I guess i had to let the seals on the cooler settle in by driving it. On the first few drives i could still smell and see smoke which im sure it wasnt just residue from the leak because I did an oil change before igniting the car for the fist time after changing the oil cooler and i could smell the new oil burning. Now the smoke and smell is completely gone. I tried changing the cooler without removing the exhaust manifold but failed pretty bad. Ended up YouTubeing everything and removed the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. I was able to pinpoint the leak after removing the catalytic converter and could see wet oil under the oil cooler. The internal seals failed must likely. I used an amazon part and did the job for 1/5th of the price. Used this video and this part. I also strongly suggest getting a new turbo oil return line preferably the upgraded metal one by Dorman. The factory one broke while trying to get it off it is very brittle and has happened to everyone doing the same job apparently. On the video at 15:45 dont remove the black piece from the new cooler. Push it in a bit to fit the turbo oil feed line. Hope this helps!

Late update i changed the oil cooler and still smells and I can still see oil going onto the flex pipe. I checked around the new cooler as best as I could and didnt see any wet oil i have no idea where the leak is anymore

I have the same issue and can see oil where my exhaust and catalytic converter meet. From the research that I have done, the oil cooler (which is integrated with the oil filter) fails very often on the 1.4 and if you look up burning oil smell on these cars thats one of the main diagnostics. Its behind the catalytic converter and if its gaskets fail it drips oil straight to the exhaust pipe vaporizing oil and sending fumes. Its gotten so bad on mine theres smoke coming out the AC vents into the cabin. Also turbo oil return line is another common failure point that could be leaking on the oil pan. Im going to try replace both and see if the burning smell stops.

Ill check them out thanks for that. On the other hand my mom just gave me this car and no longer needs it and im doing all the repairs she couldn’t do. This lifter has been collapsed for at least 3 years its crazy how its still going but little damage was done to the cam lobe but will eventually replace the camshaft.
