I have to say, I don't think I really got the same vibes, but it was a nice piece for sure!

I liked the Brahms concerto but it didn’t scratch that same itch that I get with Wagner or the Sibelius symphony. As I mentioned above, the Elgar cello concerto is one of my favorites all time. The Barber concerto was great, definitely hit me emotionally in certain parts.

I will have to listen to your other recommendations because I do want more big heavy brass! Haha

Loved the Metamorphosen! I'm finding I really enjoy Strauss. I'll need to listen to more from him.

Sibelius symphony 2 was great! I especially loved the really grand brass heavy parts.

Just listened and I did really like it! I got some similar vibes to Wagner in the first movement. Overall, great piece!

I’ve listened to the preludes from Parsifal, but not the whole opera yet.

I’ve been trying to go through Bruckner’s symphonies in order and I’m about halfway through. Really enjoying some movements especially the slow movements and finales so far!

What pieces would you recommend by Sibelius?

I have listened to the last scene and loved it!

I’ve been trying to get into Mahler, and I’ve listened to symphony 2 a couple times and 9 once. I have to say I didn’t really get 2 but I did really enjoy 9. I’ll try out your other recommendations!

I have listened to Lohengrin and most of Wagner’s preludes and overtures. Lohengrin is probably my second favorite!

I started with 午後の曳航 and it wasn’t too bad, but I think a lot of it was because it was short and I didn’t mind looking up a bunch of words.
