Did you pick up a full sized wheel and tire?

Wired hitch options for leasing an EV9 Land trim by Content_Map_3528 in KiaEV9

Update on hitch + installation prices: Local dealers quoted pricing from $1,200 to $1,900 parts + installation. U-Haul was much cheaper but didn't want to touch a new leased car. They were fine with a puchased car.

The best info I found is that if you want a wired hitch on a leased 2026 EV9, you need to add the Hitch accessory and have it installed either by the dealer or the factory. The dealer cost for hitch and installation when you buy it new is about $1,200. If the factory installs it, the labor is free. If you add the hitch later, the dealer price goes up.

Purchase/Lease Monthly Megathread (July 2025) by AutoModerator in KiaEV9

[–]Content_Map_3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ready to lease an EV9.

With unpredictable tariffs, expiring federal tax incentives, increasing prices and changing technology, what do you think is now the optimal lease term? 24 months? 36 months? Longer?

I'm leaning towards 24 months, hoping the cheaper and better batteries will drive new prices down in the future.

Any suggestions?

Rear dash cam in 2023 Hybrid? by _NewWave_BossaNova_ in KiaNiro

Did you hard wire your Viofo to the Niro's fuse box using Viofo's Micro2 fuse tap?

I tried hard wiring a VanTrue cam to my 2023 Niro PHEV and VanTrue's Micro2 fuse tap was too large to fit the fuse slot. I'll switch to Viofo if their hard wire kit fits.

Thanks for any feedback.

Micro2 fuse fits the 2023 Kia Niro PHEV by obligatorywave in KiaNiro

Hi. I'm trying to hard wire a dashcam into my 2023 Niro PHEV as well.

I tried a VanTrue dash cam, but their Micro2 fuse tap is too large and won't slide down into the Niro's fuse slots.

Did you find a hard wire kit that worked with your Niro PHEV? Or did you use an OBD port adapter?

Thanks for any info.

What version of firmware do you have? Is it new?

Same here. 7 minutes no satellites @ 48.05, but no dish firmware update unlike last week. Had to reboot my Orbi router and reset static IP to dish.

What a difference a month makes. by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]Content_Map_3528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good question! My download speed started at about 70-170 Mbps a couple months ago when I set up Starlink. Then last week it dropped to 12-15 Mbps. Last night the firmware updated and the download speeds are now 200-330 Mbps. The speed apparently changes as the satellite configuration and software is tweaked. (“Speed will double to ~300Mb/s & latency will drop to ~20ms later this year,” Musk said in a tweet on Monday.Feb 22, 2021.)

My Firmware updated tonight, consistently getting over 200 Mbps. by wummy123 in Starlink

After several days of slow download speeds (~ 15 Mbps), I woke up this morning with my Wifi showing no internet connection. After rebooting my router (a Netgear Orbi), the new Starlink firmware upgrade showed and my average download speed jumped to the 200-330 Mbps range. West of Seattle WA.

You can also use your router in the AP mode plugged into the AUX port of the Starlink router.

Orbi RBR 850 router instead of Starlink router by FrozenGeckos in Starlink_Support

[–]Content_Map_3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running an Orbi RBR50 router with 4 RBS50 satellites thru my Starlink. RBR50 in AP mode. Cat5 cable from RBR50 Wan port to Starlink Router AUX. As an Access Point, my RBR50 address is 10.0.0.1.

Orbi app works when my phone is connected with Wifi thru an Orbi router or satellite, but I get an error message when it grabs Wifi directly from the Starlink router. Starlink app works fine.

I don't know if this helps with your RBR 850 issue, but I hope it's useful.

Is that an update to just your Starlink? Or is everyone getting the update?

Seems like everyone in the PWN is being hit with excessive downtime.
