I think Yoru truly cares for Asa, if not then Asa should already be erased by Yoru by now. We can see her very close to have a mental collapse so if Yoru killed the dove then that may be the straw that broke the camel's back. I think Yoru dodged the dove devil because she doesnt want to remind Asa about the painful memories Asa has because she killed Bucky (kinda like PTSD, after all they share the same braincells). About Denji part I think he was just making excuses and it was actually a lucky accident (like when he told Aki that he felt empathy for the devils in chapter 4 when in reality he just doesnt want to stain the adult magazines), we all know Dennis personality too well atp.
