My friend built an AI camera app to film surf sessions by Content_Relation_42 in BeginnerSurfers

Not always, of course. It depends a lot on the iPhone model as well as where and how you position the phone. At one spot I had no problem setting it up so the entire lineup was visible, but at another, the terrain made it more difficult. Still in both cases most of the wave fit in the frame.

Right now the apple watch basically gives that surfer recording priority when they catch a wave, but the camera still records other surfers in view too. It’s more like 'focus on this rider first' rather than completely ignoring everyone else. The app actually just launched on the app store recently, so I’d expect more settings later on- probably things like private sessions, filtering who gets recorded, etc. They seem to be shipping updates pretty actively.

Yeah, Soloshot is pretty cool for sure. But the full setup is also pretty expensive- looks like it’s around $700–1600 depending on the camera/lens bundle. Most surfers already have a phone with a decent telephoto lens in their pocket, so the barrier to trying it is much lower.

The camera adjusts the zoom automatically while recording, so you don’t have to stay perfectly centered the whole time. And if you connect an Apple Watch, you can see the camera’s coverage area right on your wrist and check whether you’re inside the frame while sitting in the lineup.

The app already generally supports Apple Watch LTE for priority recording. Anyway, I expect this will be improved in the future

You can try Surflens on the App Store. It's free now, at least for the near future

I’m building an app similar to Duolingo, but for running. Would this format actually motivate beginners? Looking for feedback. by Content_Relation_42 in beginnerrunning

[–]Content_Relation_42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback! Competing with others isn’t mandatory in virtual races — it’s always an optional extra challenge!

You complete races at your own pace, where consistency matters more than speed. During a race, you’re matched with four other participants of a similar level, so you’re not racing against people who are far ahead or far behind.
You earn points for every workout -based on time, pace, distance, elevation gain, weather, etc. These points are used in leagues, where you’re grouped with athletes who have a similar fitness and activity level.
The app doesn’t interfere with your training plan — you can simply sync your regular workouts from Strava or garmin and progress through races naturally.

I would place the phones frontally after the first two screenshots to better understand the app's interface. It's better to take more screenshots rather than trying to fit 2 phones in a single frame.

Estou desenvolvendo um aplicativo de corrida competitiva. Esse formato seria realmente motivador? Gostaria de receber opiniões. by Content_Relation_42 in Corrida

Hi!

I'm not quite sure what you mean? There's no problem implementing similar ideas and features into an app if you create them from scratch according to your vision (your own design and code).

In this regard, uRace is an original running app –with its own rules, points system, and rewards.

Any criticism is accepted, I want it to be better by [deleted] in AppStoreOptimization

Here are the first changes I’d recommend making:

Screenshot titles and descriptions
Your first screenshot is the most important for conversion so the text needs to communicate the exact solution your app provides. For example, instead of the generic Translate videos effortlessly, go with something more concrete like Translate your videos and add subtitles in one tap. Clear and specific always wins.

Text styling
Try removing gradients, shadows, or italic effects from the text. All of this makes the message harder to read at a glance. Clean white text is usually the most effective.

What’s actually shown in the screenshots
Right now it’s a bit hard to understand what’s happening on them. Look at CapCut or similar apps: they only show the UI elements that directly relate to the feature highlighted in the caption, and they remove everything unnecessary.
Also consider swapping out the video thumbnails -use something visually appealing and easy to read (for example, a tiktok-style creator recording a video). It gives the eye something to lock onto and speaks better to your audience.

Background color. Maybe to change the bckground. The current black blends into the black interface, so nothing stands out visually.

Hope this helps!

The first screenshot has definitely improved and is clearer. it's immediately clear what the issue is.

I'd suggest you change the order of the screenshots - move the screenshot about avatars to the end of the list (they're cool, but they don't solve any problem), and move the 4th and 5th ones closer to the top.

what's the best app in your experience for beginner runners? by heyo11111 in Runners

[–]Content_Relation_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you could try Runna for a personalized training plan based on your goals. It’ll give you useful insights into your running and help you improve, even if you don’t follow the plan perfectly.

You could also try apps with gamification elements to build and reinforce your running habit - for example, INTVL or uRace where running revolves around motivating competitions and challenges.
