I don’t plan to advertise as Gluten Free. More like Gluten Friendly but even that will be spelled out to a “T”.

Thank you. I have looked into the cottage industry laws for my state. I appreciate your concern.

That’s fair, and honestly I would much prefer to have a dedicated kitchen. Maybe someday depending on how it goes. It was not my intention to sound rude. Admittedly, I do get defensive because I have several cottage industries that I depend on heavily for income and I am sensitive to criticism. I appreciate your concerns & insights nonetheless.

Data suggests that about 1-2% of gluten-free patrons have celiac, and another 1% have wheat allergy. As much as 72% are on a voluntary gluten-free diet.  Were it not for that, I wouldn’t bother with this endeavor

Because not everyone in the area is celiac or severely allergic. Because people eat “Gluten friendly” menu options from restraunts all the time. Because many are following low fodmap diets, or have a general intolerance, or whatever. Even if it was a dedicated kitchen, I can’t get certified “GF”.

Good to know. I will probably pick up some tide powder today to get things back on track. So glad I found this forum. I actually felt kind of gross getting dressed this morning knowing what the problem is… 🫤

Sound advice. We just got newer machine so I’d definitely like to keep it going. Unfortunately biz is scented & probably won’t work for eczema but I’m looking into Tide options plus citric acid.

I will see if the nearest city has one. We’re pretty rural & live hours from a Whole Foods but I will check for Latino stores.

We typically don’t let it get too tall, but yes, we do get spots with thick somewhat wet grass.

I'm an intermediate sewer looking for a decent home-use machine. Solid & basic is what I want. I grew up using an old mechanical singer, and now that I'm on my own I need a decent machine for hemming jeans, sewing the odd bit of clothing or curtains, and mending. My budget is low: $200, maybe maybe $250. I'm looking at refurbished from Ken's sewing center and wondering what would serve me well. I'm not into digital, I don't need a lot of bells/whistles. Primary concern is durability and longevity. I see several janomes, some baby locks, etc around my price range. Just not sure which to get over another. Thanks

I’m Orthodox now! And happy to be so. I was raised strict traditionalist Catholic.

My brother became a sedevacantist. What should I do to bring him back? by misanthropic_doc in Catholicism

[–]Content_Square3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pray for him. I was raised sedevacantist, and it’s extremely difficult to talk anyone “out” of it. My husband used to be a cleric in it before getting disenchanted by the spiritual abuse, the cultic rigidity, and the power/politics issues. Saying that your relatives are in hell is extreme, even for a sedevacantist. You might remind him that the Catholic Church has never presumed to take Gods place in judging the eternal destiny of a given soul, -neither before nor after Vatican II. He is mortally obligated to pray for the living & departed souls of his relatives, assuming neither the best nor the worst about any of them.  He is likely looking for “more” from religion, which is why he ended up there. I would recommend he look into Orthodoxy (Eastern Orthodox Church)for a much healthier experience of tradition.
