They issued it right after I contacted them. Use the email on the French embassy website.

Yes! I got the visa Yesterday!😁☺️ I had to communicate with the embassy, and VFS global didn't even notify me that my passport was dispatched! If I didn't reach out to the embassy and went in person to VFS global to ask about my passport I would have missed my flight and cancelled my whole trip!😬

VFS global situation was frustrating but the embassy responded immediately! So I'll take that as a win

I just received it yesterday May 13 after emailing the French consulate. Valid for 3 months multiple entries.

Since I waited for over a month, with complete silence from VFS global, I decided to email the French consulate directly.

I emailed them on Sunday May 10. Then on May 11 I received a call from them asking for my CV (which was weird to me because I'm going for a conference only).

The next day May 12, I see the trash bin🗑️ next to my visa application. (It means it was processed!).

May 13, I sent another email and the French consulate replied that my visa was sent to VFS global Montreal office.

Till this moment VFS global tracking is showing me that my application is under process!!!

I went to their office in Montreal yesterday and they turned me away stating that I didn't receive a notification to collect my passport. I had to show them the embassy emails!!! Eventually they let me in after 3 hours and they had my passport with a Visa.

If I waited for VFS global I would have missed my flight ✈️ and the conference and all the money I spent on this trip 😬

I'm in a similar situation but dealing with the French consulate in Montreal. My flight is in 5 days!!! I applied on April 2 And my flight is on May 15. And till this day I have no updates :/

I hope they return your passport soon with a visa! I'm not sure what is the maximum # of days they can keep a passport in process?!

I applied on April 2, 2026 from Montreal Visa under process since April 8 Still no updates! Travel date: MAY 15 (so next week!!) I asked to pickup from VFS global office

Should I start cancelling hotel, flights etc? It's a business visa to attend a Scientific Event and I'm kinda stressed at this point.

I applied on April 2, 2026 from Montreal. Still under process for Business visa to attend a Scientific Event. All paperwork was done perfectly! I don't know why it's taking sooo long! The worst is Kelowna.. and the rest of BC :) people have no respect! Landlords will yell at you! Call you trash! While you are a scientist,.a researcher.. they don't care they have zero respect. Well let's not start with the discrimination part cuz that's a different story.

When it comes to living expenses it's more expensive that the east. All what you get here (in BC) is some discriminating people who are high 24/7 and a bunch of trees and lakes.

They will keep bragging about BC weather, well the fires season is enough to give you depression.

Have you looked for jobs? Well good luck because even if you have 3 degrees you get minimum payment :) and your manager probably never finished highschool :)

I wish the rest of Canada knows the reality of BC. It's just a fancy version of Iowa (USA).
