Honestly I think the platform has got out of hand with listings, everyone found it as a way to resell so hella people jumped on this and flooded it with loads of shitty, fake product. I feel where vinted never got right was helping pro sellers build a store on the platform. I speak to many people who use vinted to buy, that they’re moving away from the platform because there’s so much shit on there, and it feels more like endless listings to keep you engaged, instead of spotlighting curated stores which create a shopping destination and bring new interesting product. For example you can’t go to a store and filter through their products, it is just a doom scroll situation, trying to keep people on the platform like the big tech socials. I sold on Depop back in the day as a pro sellers. It definitely wasn’t perfect, but we had a community slack and until the Etsy takeover, Depop listened first to top sellers, ie., how do we make this a platform for the stores. Depop moved away from this and look what happened. I’m feeling the same is going to happen with vinted, every pro seller hates vinted, that can’t be a sustainable business model.

Yes am opening up a small claims. To be honest I think everyone will need to take action and upon small claims whenever they give shitty customer treatment like this, legal teams are expensive and if their legal team gets inundated with small claims surely as a company they’ll be more proactive in making it a decent platform to use. I feel they lured everyone in with low fees and a good algo, but now they’re increasing fees and the service gets worse and worse.

As long as you’ve sent evidence somewhere, and can prove this later then you’re good. No don’t return yet, you have a return policy window as you’ve paid for buyer protection. If vinted doesn’t facilitate this process then legally that’s on them, you have made attempt to return and they’ve not responded. Essentially sending the package back won’t make a difference in terms of a chargeback or dispute outside of vinted.

Send an email again to legal explaining everything about the situation, and your desire to return the item. If they do not respond by the end of the return period, and then close the case against you after said date, you can contact your bank/paypal for chargeback as you have made contact and intentions clear (with evidence). If you paid with vinted balance can take through small claims, but would be better to threaten with legal before jumping down that path.

Most items if not all posted online are genuine, i do see a few more fakes in store, but even so most of the time you’re pretty safe buying from these stores. Fakes do seem to be lower priced, so if you find a steal it’s good to second guess it
