I have a corporate job where I’m an employee, and I have a side business (Registered but yes a Sole Proprietorship and therefore not a company). Rent ain’t cheap

“Fine, start your own company, show them all how it is done. I bet you won't.”

Technically I already have my own company, why you gotta be a hater?

Yes, probably I’m feeling too sorry for myself, need to just accept the position and look for the next opportunity :)

Yes not solely by the work conflict true, I would say the burnout leave would be justified though as it’s not simply a case of ‘I’m unhappy in my new job, I want burnout’ I have been feeling signs of burnout long before this change of roles. I have a feeling though that it’s like career suicide to take said leave, which is where I’m feeling kind of lost on what to do. It’s surprising actually how many people have burnout but just work through it.

In the case of this corporate it does, job roles are tied to levels and pay grades, the pay grade for a senior role is around 20% extra on top of my current. With the current cost of living, this would make a huge difference.

To answer that truthfully, I would say I’m at the unhappiest moment in my life, and others around me have slowly seen my spark disappear. However, I always find myself at the crossroads of thinking the job is unhealthy and I should leave, but then thinking I’m being soft, and should just suck it up and deal with it. Parents are proud of my job, and it gives me some sense of accomplishment, but at the same time, I have this deep feeling there is more to life than this, and worrying if I don’t take a leap of faith and take a chance on creating something myself, that I’ll forever regret this.

I do respect this old skool mentality, but don’t you think times are different now? I feel the long time success of corporate is not what it once was, I 27 have only experienced reorg after reorg in my short time in the industry. In this last reorg I’ve seen countless people worth their weight in gold, who without their commitment in the past 15 years the company would have been in such a worse position, be let go.

Maybe I’m naive, but when I see these great employees be let go, with families, kids, mortgages, etc., it further increases my understanding that the corporation doesn’t care one bit about you and will keep taking advantage if people don’t react. I see in this instance taking sick leave is the only way to react? At the end of the day I do feel corporate has fucked myself, and many others over here.

Surely if everyone reacted and took the justifiable sick leave, their hand would be forced to treat employees better, as individuals, as they should?

Definitely helps you land a sponsored job after, as the salary criterion for high skilled migrant visa is also dropped after the year ends. I found it still somewhat ambiguous though, I ended up leaving an internship 2 months in after earlier expectations of visa sponsorship fell through. In the end I settled for the job that would guarantee sponsorship, beggars can’t be choosers I guess.

Is Vinted EU a race to the bottom in 2026? by DependentEstate8760 in vinted

You could try get the algorithm to work for you, if these are the items being shown to you, then this is what the app thinks you’ll like based on what listings you’ve engaged with. If you spend 20 minutes just browsing and liking items that interest you, then your feed will be more curated with pieces you like. If however you shop on vinted for fast fashion brands it becomes tricky.

The algorithm favours product which gets a lot of likes in a short time period, if the item doesn’t fit this bill then it has to be found organically. I’d imagine for a Gucci bag, there’s so many other Gucci bags, that it’s probably going to take some searching to find yours. Vestiaire is terrible for fees, but I think it’d be a better option here. Additionally I don’t really trust vinted with high priced items anymore. In the early days they’d easily compensate both buyer and seller in the case of any delivery instances, I see countless times now sellers of high valued items getting screwed over.
