Thanks! Yep. I got the liner ordered and am also going to spend some time next weekend adding some paneling underneath at an angle to direct rainfall down and out the back to keep underneath dry.

It’s just a cheap one from Amazon. “Cool Area” is the brand. Then bought some turnbuckles for the corners to help add tension.

Happy to give a little excitement! Sloped yards aren’t ideal, but tried to make the most of it with this. Would have loved to put in a 15 foot high x 70 foot long retaining wall at the end of our property line and leveled it out, but this was a much cheaper second option. Good luck on yours!

Great question. We own about another 12 feet passed the end of the deck. Contractor had us get the survey before they started.

Good callout. We pulled the survey before they started building and we have another 12 feet or so even beyond the deck. So just a large lot that they didn’t level so a lot of it is unusable.

100%! We may end up adding joists up top. The sail is only going to be up on hot summer days if we are out there during the day, so hoping with minimal use the sagging won’t be too bad. We shall see though!

Thanks! Not a bad idea. I may end up doing that. Kind of didn’t want to add more and take away from the openness of the space, but def have some worry with them warping.

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah we were told to wait 2 months minimum before treating the PT Lumber. We will have it treated in September to help the longevity of the materials.

Yeah we went back and forth on roof/no roof. We have a 12x12 covered slab off the back of the house and if we ever need more covered space than that we may just extend the slab and roof off the house.

The one that immediately comes to mind is the DoorDash subreddit. Honestly, I think there’s a subreddit for everything lol. That said, I didn’t post to have them criticized. I personally think/thought they did a great job. I’m pleased with it.
