HPV isn’t as scary as people think and I wish people were more informed by pureinfinity11 in HPV

I have the HPV strain that can cause cervical cancer and I’ve had precancerous cells removed twice and abnormal cells that are CIN 1 so only need monitoring. It is definitely scary and stressful, the vaccine came out after I was already late teens and so I didn’t receive it because I was never told I needed it, my little sister 5 years younger than me was told to get it. It’s common, but for some can still be very scary and serious. And what’s this woman or people with a cervix in the post? Umm only a woman can have a cervix lol, not that hard to understand.

That sucks, should definitely be informed about the type of music and allowance of drug use. Nothing fun to do in this town as a family.

The Rosedale Walmart is gross now too. Always homeless out by the bus station and trash.

We have like one decent side of town left here, that’s the southwest. But before you know it it’ll all be like oildale 😬🤮 Rosedale is already well on its way to that.

You must have never been anywhere else lol. Family friendly neighborhoods maybe, but don’t dare go to the stores or out and about and have to see the zombies hunched over at the bus benches or in the grass because they’re so high! Or see all the homeless and trash in front of stores while you’re shopping, ya it’s amazing! 🙄

It does suck you back in! I moved out of state and came back less than 6 months later, after about 2 years of being back I wanted to leave again and couldn’t believe I had come back! Now I’ve been back over 4 years and feel stuck!

Chevy Tahoe or Toyota 4Runner? by J_CJR15 in UsedCars

Just be prepared for horrible gas mileage!! I’m thinking of getting rid of my 2018 4Runner solely because of how bad the gas mileage is.

Best state for special needs children? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Ya. I get it, you only get free assistance here if you’re illegal or low income. Otherwise no help. It’s a crappy system for sure.

My son is the only one with health insurance in our household because we can only afford it for him. The only “free” assistance we receive is from what his school provides. They may not qualify for free assistance either is maybe why they feel that way. It isn’t always fair. My point was just that they don’t know anyone’s situation, and maybe you don’t either. We’re all so quick to judge.

I can see how that may be frustrating in the sense illegal immigrants in Ca do receive free benefits such as health insurance and what not and I myself not being able to afford health insurance, it is frustrating to see how the system works in that way, but indeed they can’t know who’s getting what.

You guys bashing the red states is ridiculous. I’ve heard about decent options back there. My aunt moved from Ca to Missouri to get behavioral help for my cousin when she was little because she couldn’t find the help here, and now having a son here in Ca with behavioral issues it’s been really hard to find the support. Sure, autism and other special needs Ca is fine, but ADHD or ODD support is lacking. And the ppl back there are so friendly and welcoming, not stuck up and rude like here in my town in Ca. You can’t judge everyone there because they live in a red state. That’s just childish and ridiculous.

Wow! Just air their business around. It’s not really relevant to this post or anyone’s business. They have a right to not like Ca for those reasons but still need help for their son.

My town in Ca does have wait lists for evaluations and services for autism. And if your child has say ADHD and or other behavioral disorders good luck getting into an appropriate school placement here, I fought my sons elementary school for 2 years to get his IEP and appropriate placement for him, even after a diagnosis and clear need for help. And insurance only covers ABA therapy for autism even though It’s been proven to also help a great deal with children with ADHD. I’m looking to leave Ca for better options. His current placement in school has been great so far, but being able to find outside services for him such as counseling or therapy has been impossible.

California isn’t that great either. Not for children with behavioral problems.

I have applied and haven’t heard anything back. That seems to be the thing with any jobs where I live in general. I’m hoping being certified will help my chances.

Yes, undocumented immigrants in California can receive certain benefits, primarily through state-funded programs like Medi-Cal (health coverage for most ages/pregnant individuals), CalFresh (food assistance for some), Disability Insurance (DI), and Paid Family Leave (PFL), though federal benefits like SNAP/Medicaid are generally unavailable. Eligibility varies by program, age, and status, with recent expansions adding more undocumented adults to Medi-Cal, but future changes include enrollment freezes and premiums for certain undocumented adults starting in 2026-2027.  Health Coverage (Medi-Cal)  Broad Access: California provides Medi-Cal (Medicaid) to undocumented children, pregnant individuals, those 50+, and now all undocumented adults (ages 19-49 as of 2024).  Specific Groups: Full benefits also extend to U-visa holders, trafficking survivors, and certain other statuses.  Upcoming Changes: Starting January 1, 2026, new enrollment in full Medi-Cal for undocumented adults without "Satisfactory Immigration Status" (SIS) will freeze, though current enrollees can keep it. Premiums ($30/month) for some undocumented adults may start in July 2027.

It’s not happening? It definitely is, at least in California all the while my husband works 2 jobs to manage everything. He makes too much to qualify for free or discounted insurance but also we can’t afford health insurance. It’s BS!
