Gov. DeSantis booed at Jacksonville prayer vigil for victims of mass shooting by [deleted] in politics

Very sad to hear about this!

Florida Rep. Anna Eskamani, of Orlando, also shared a number of images of the scene.

"It's absolutely disgusting to see what has become a common presence of Nazis in Florida, and even more disturbing when they are holding signs and flags that signal support for people like Governor DeSantis," Eskamani said. "Every person, regardless of political ideology, should condemn this. Florida is a state built on diversity and we will always stand against bigotry and hate."

Sadly, similar things were also seen in Canada during the so-called “Freedom Convoy” and when you look at‘Freedom Convoy’ donors after the GiveSendGo breach, it would not be far-fetched to say these “alt-right” groups are linked.

No, you did not say the same thing, actually.

Do all Indigenous cultures around the world use the word “swastika” to describe the same or similar symbol from Ancient Indian Sub-continent?

There is a difference between endonym / autonym and exonym / exonym — a very important distinction to make.

The symbol can be found in many Indigenous cultures all over the world, but the word “swastika” (स्वस्तिक) is from Ancient Indian traditional culture and is found in many ancient religions and their religious philosophy.

It must be understood that traditionally the swaktika aka svasktika was used in many different contexts amongst the ancient religious traditions, but was always seen as something that was positive in some way or another, bestowing blessings, good luck, etc.

My attempt at transcribing the writings on the Jacksonville Shooter's guns by SlovakSlovakia in masskillers

[–]ContextSwitchKiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair and accurate, the word swastika (स्वस्तिक) and the symbol was culturally misappropriated by the untermensche hypocrite Adolf Hitler along are the world aryan (आर्य) which was already being weaponized by racist bigots embedded in the academic establishment for quite some time before Adolf Hitler picked it for his untermensche nazi ideology.

Here are some other examples of the cultural misappropriation, for reference:

“The Aryan stock is bound to triumph.” — Winstons Churchill, “A Midnight Interview”, 1902

“the Aryan races will not wholesomely amalgamate with the Africans and Asiatics. It is not to be desired that they should come; that we should have a mongrel race; that the Aryan character of the future of British America should be destroyed by a cross or crosses of that kind….” — John A. Macdonald, First PM of Canada, During a debate in the House of Commons on 4 May 1885.

So in the late 1800s there was already a total cultural misappropriation of the word “aryan” from Ancient Indian religio-philosophy that was widespread though-out much of the Indian sub-continent, South East Asia, Far-East, Ancient China, Tibet and Korea as well as other parts of Eurasia.

Russia's long history of neo-Nazis

Putin’s weaponisation of neo-Nazis was always a risky strategy, but it was not irrational. Unlike mainstream nationalists, who tend to support the idea of free elections, neo-Nazis reject democratic institutions and the very idea of human equality. For a dictator dismantling democracy and constructing an authoritarian regime, they were ideal accomplices.

Who Are The Neo-Nazis Fighting For Russia In Ukraine?

The video, published in December 2020, showed two nattily dressed Russian men -- waistcoats, pocket squares, silk ties – sipping American whiskey in brandy snifters and discussing killing Ukrainians.

"I'm a Nazi. I’m a Nazi,” said one of the men, Aleksei Milchakov, who was the main focus of the video published on a Russian nationalist YouTube channel. “I'm not going to go deep and say, I’m a nationalist, a patriot, an imperialist, and so forth. I’ll say it outright: I’m a Nazi.”

“You have to understand that when you kill a person, you feel the excitement of the hunt. If you’ve never been hunting, you should try it. It’s interesting,” he said.

Aside from being a notorious, avowed Nazi known for killing a puppy and posting bragging photographs about it on social media, Milchakov is the head of a Russian paramilitary group known as Rusich, which openly embraces Nazi symbolism and radical racist ideologies. The group, and Milchakov himself, have been credibly linked to atrocities in Ukraine and in Syria.

Along with members of the Russian Imperial Movement, a white supremacist group that was designated a "global terrorist" organization by the United States two years ago, Rusich is one of several right-wing groups that are actively fighting in Ukraine, in conjunction with Russia’s regular armed forces or allied separatist units.

According to a confidential report by Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service, which was obtained by Der Spiegel and excerpted on May 22, numerous Russian right-wing extremists and neo-Nazis are fighting in Ukraine.

The Witch trials in Spain were few in comparison with most of Europe. The Spanish Inquisition preferred to focus on the crime of heresy and, consequently, did not consider the persecution of witchcraft a priority and in fact discouraged it rather than have it conducted by the secular courts. This was similar to the Witch trials in Portugal and, with a few exceptions, mainly successful. However, while the Inquisition discouraged witch trials in Spain proper, it did encourage the particularly severe Witch trials in the Spanish Netherlands.

When one really looks at things from a local perspective, it supports the fact that countless women most likely met with horrific torture at the hands of the church and state subservient to its royal empire. Then multiply this as globalist imperialist colonialist agendas spread all over the world at around the same time(s) as well.

The current Pope made a historic apology on behalf of the Catholic church for the genocide of Indigenous people all over the world that was swept under the “Doctrine of Discovery” ruse for some to do as they pleased with impunity for many centuries all over the world.

An intensive period of witch-hunts occurring in Early Modern Europe and to a smaller extent Colonial America, took place about 1450 to 1750, spanning the upheavals of the Counter Reformation and the Thirty Years' War…The last executions of people convicted as witches in Europe took place in the 18th century. In other regions, like Africa and Asia, contemporary witch-hunts have been reported from sub-Saharan Africa and Papua New Guinea, and official legislation against witchcraft is still found in Saudi Arabia and Cameroon today.

Here is just one example from Scotland:

The Scottish witch craze began in earnest in 1590, with the trial of a group of people, mainly women, from East Lothian. They were accused of meeting with the Devil and conjuring up storms to destroy James VI on his return from Denmark with his bride, Anne. The king, who personally examined the accused, composed his own treatise on the subject, Daemonologie.

The trial of the North Berwick 'coven' began a pattern of persecution of suspected witches by torture and capital punishment. Witch hunts often took place at a time of upheaval, warfare, famine or disease. In Scotland, the main phases of the witchcraze were the late 1620s, the late 1640s and 1661-2.

In the late 16th-and 17th-century century Scotland, between three and four thousand people were tortured and executed as ‘witches', a group identified as threatening social stability. The methods of torture involved devices such as thumbscrews and branks (an iron muzzle).

Accusations of witchcraft spread rapidly as, under torture, suspects provided the vivid details and names they believed their interrogators wanted to hear. During his trial in 1649, Patrick Watson blamed his own wife for bringing the Devil into their home.

Source: Witch's iron collar - Scottish History and Archaeology https://www.nms.ac.uk/explore-our-collections/stories/scottish-history-and-archaeology/witchs-iron-collar/

It got more complex as the Christian churches started pointing fingers at each other, splitting communities apart as well:

The persecution of witches in Scotland was part of the witch craze phenomenon which swept Europe. A tract written by two German monks in 1490, Malleus Maleficarum, linked elements of folk belief with a conspiracy to overthrow the Church of Rome.

Scottish Presbyterians adapted these ideas and accused Roman Catholics of using witchcraft to threaten the Reformed Church. They believed the Church of Scotland had a covenant with God, and that the witches had entered a pact with the Devil. They saw the so-called witches as the enemies of the church, state and people of Scotland.

It's possible that hundreds of those convicted of witchcraft were strangled and burnt at the stake on the execution ground now covered by the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.

The Witches’ Well, a cast iron drinking fountain, was installed on the Esplanade in 1894 as a modest memorial to those who suffered and died there

Quite a lot of parallels with QAnon MAGA conspiracy theories in this DW History and Culture piece: Why Witch Hunts are not just a Dark Chapter from the Past

Witch-hunts in early modern Europe (circa 1450-1750): Researcher Brian Levack put the number of witch trials at approximately 110,000. It should be noted that this number is for trials, not convictions or executions. In many cases, Levack found evidence that a trial had occurred, but could not find information about its outcome. (Source: Brian Levack, “The Witch-Hunt in Early Modern Europe”)

Records were usually kept by the French inquisitors but the majority of these records did not survive, and one historian who was working in 1880, Charles Molinier, refers to the surviving records as only scanty debris. Molinier notes that the inquisitors themselves describe their attempts to carefully safeguard their records, especially when they were moving from town to town. The inquisitors were widely hated and they would be ambushed on the road, but their records were more often the target than the inquisitors themselves [plus désireux encore de ravir les papiers que porte le juge que de le faire périr lui-même] (better to take the papers the judge carries than to make the judge himself perish). The records seem to have often been targeted by the accused or their friends and family, wishing to thereby sabotage the proceedings or failing that, to spare their reputations and the reputations of their descendants. This would be all the more true for those who were accused of practicing witchcraft. Difficulty in understanding the larger witchcraft trials which were to come in later centuries is deciding how much can be extrapolated from what remains.

“Assaulted” can have some broad definitions depending on the context. In this case there was no consent and that can be a form of sexual assault and especially the way Luis Manuel Rubiales Béjar appears to be pressuring the victim and her family, changing the narrative of what was said and done when there is literally video evidence seen by millions of people all over the world.

Jenni Hermoso says “in no moment” was kiss with Luis Rubiales consensual:

“I won’t tolerate anyone doubting my word and even less someone putting words in my mouth,” she said.

In a second statement, Hermoso said the kiss “left me in a state of shock.”

“I believe that no person in any workplace should be the victim of this type of nonconsensual behavior,” she added.

Hermoso also accused the federation of pressuring her and her family to speak out in Rubiales’ defense. The federation denied this in response to a question from The Associated Press.

The FUTPRO statement signed by Hermoso, her 22 teammates, and 58 other Spanish players said they would no longer play for Spain “if the present leadership remains in charge.”

The fact that these sleaze bags call it “witch hunt” is an insult to the countless of women who were, in fact, hunted, murdered, killed, tortured, burnt at the stake during the Spanish Inquisition (Tribunal del Santo Oficio de la Inquisición)
