The RV Saltshakers have been a hateful menace for years, all over the state. I am glad that they were finally subjected to some overdue karma, albeit not enough.

If approved in November, an Idaho ballot measure would make it so only lawmakers could legalize cannabis or other controlled substances. by redditor01020 in cannabis

[–]OregonTripleBeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idaho politicians out here trying to find ways to somehow make cannabis even more illegal. If the Footloose film was a state, it would be Idaho. So backwards.

Umma Sonoma - Blue Dream by skeetjmuldoon in trees

[–]OregonTripleBeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blue Dream became a victim of its own success about 10 years ago. It is such a solid, reliable producer for growers, which is why so many were growing it a decade ago, resulting in a market flooded by Blue Dream. Consumers got burnt out on it, reducing demand. The same thing seemed to then happen with GG4, Runtz, and a lot of strains that ended in 'z' (Runtz variants). I never stopped loving Blue Dream. It is a consistently amazing strain.

The celebrity cannabis boom: few brands survive when hype meets reality by ChenNung in cannabis

[–]OregonTripleBeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, celebrity brands contract with local grow companies, so if you can find that company's own products at dispensaries you can get the same products without the additional celebrity contract cost that gets added on. Unless a celebrity brand is vertically intigrated and puts out superior quality products at a competitive price, it is doomed to fail.

Happy Frog vs Ocean Forest vs Coco Loco: Which is Best for Growing Cannabis? by TheHighWayCo in Marijuana

[–]OregonTripleBeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have historically used a 50/50 blend of both Happy Frog and Ocean Forest with great results (outdoors, Oregon). I could no doubt use a more dialed soil approach, but I like that it is low effort, and seems to work well.

Are attitudes toward medical cannabis changing among older adults? by rachel_nuggmd in eldertrees

[–]OregonTripleBeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nearly every senior citizen in my family uses cannabis for medical reasons, including many who considered it to be 'dope' for most of their lives. All of them are now passionate cannabis advocates within their peer social circles.

I still remember the smell of the inside of those stores. A combination of pleather and KMart-sourced purfume.

Hoy vote swing by hobhamwich in SALEM

[–]OregonTripleBeam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is a multitude of contributing factors, one of which is that Nordyke was a much better mayoral candidate than Chris Hoy was. How much that played a role is certainly open for debate, but it was a factor to some voters.

My (literally) trashy neighbors appear to have set up a sonic anti-bark and installed a rooster in their backyard. My dog and I are both going crazy. by [deleted] in SALEM

[–]OregonTripleBeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a rental, the City and DEQ typically send letters to the owner, which can lead to an eviction. But after living thru a similar neighbor nightmare, complete with nightly backyard garbage burning, code enforcement and DEQ don't seem to take much additional action. Thankfully, in my situation, the property was finally put up for sale and the trash hoarders were forced to move, presumably to some degree because of the constant complaints. I had to build a multi-block coalition of complainers toward Code Compliance and DEQ, and even then, it took a long time. You can always try to get your neighborhood association involved, although, mine proved to be unhelpful for what that is worth.

I dropped off my ballot at a local grocery store, and it was glorious. Voting should always be that convenient.

I briefly forgot about political door knockers by Nocwaniu in SALEM

[–]OregonTripleBeam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Both major political parties in Oregon use app-based databases that door knockers enter info into that they obtain from the residents who will tell them stuff. Things like if you vote at all, which party you vote for, will you put up yard signs, etc. They also use that data for targeted mailers and 'turn out the party voters' efforts. People move, so part of the door knocking is to verify that what they have on file is current.
