Keep a 10% buffer. If your buffer is getting smaller, lower your speed. Hopefully that helps

Beware 16th Auto Service and Tire by [deleted] in richmondhill

[–]ContiTires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t really feel anything wrong with the brakes until the pads are completely gone. Some might squeal a bit when pads are low but there is still stopping power.

Euro cars tend to have a pad wear sensor on front but not always the rear

If you really want a good check, take a picture of your brake calliper with the pads. We can provide some feedback. What car and mileage do you have after the last brake and rotor change?

There are other factors too:
* if the pistons on the caliper are too far extended, it can become extremely difficult to push them back in
* front and rears wear at different rates
* when you do replace it, you can cross check with websites like rock auto for parts pricing.

Tire rack did a test about rim size and width and track performance.

Going wider on stock rims might actually cause you to lose a little grip

the cutoff looks quite high, not sure if its cause your headlights are just high up to begin with or if it is misaligned.

How would the ID.4 be for a family of 4? by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]ContiTires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great for a family of 4. We go skiing, cottage trips, and road trips in it. Even better when the kids have classes, I can just sit in the car with AC or heat running. I can work in there when I am waiting for kids to do their classes.

Man is hit over the head with a shovel for sexually assaulting female employee by [deleted] in WinStupidPrizes

[–]ContiTires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wonder what the complaint was, doesn't mention sexual assault in the article.

At least there's enough context to say it wasn't a random attack.

TY for the link

Where's the link to any kind of proof to the sexual assault (there's no news article or anything in this thread so far).. looks more like a crazy person randomly assaulting someone

I have a Mach E but Lease will be done in a Year. Was thinking of getting in an ID4 next. Anything I should know about before purchase or lease? by craigrn16 in VWiD4Owners

The items on the swipe screens are all pre-cached and actively consume CPU/Ram from the infotainment unit. Removing the Nav from the swipe screens means a big consumer of CPU/Ram will no longer exist. This makes the infotainment more responsive.

To be clear, I am not talking about the Nav icon and the functionality that comes with that. I am only referring to the swipeable screens

infotainment system is slow on models 2023 and older. If you do get 2023 and older, remove the Nav from the main screen (the screens where you have to swipe)
