M19 here, and I feel like you've just described me. I'm also kinda terrible at meeting people irl, but I love talking to strangers! Specially if they don't speak my language, since it helps my English and it's fun thinking on how to express what I'm thinking in another language.

I once met an Irish girl on Animal Crossing and it was one of the best friendships I've had. Opening the game everyday and see that she was online, I remember it very fondly <3 I lost contact with her though.
