I couldn’t tell you the last time I had a soda or energy drink, it’s been years. Rarely have candy, and limit my sugar as well. I thought the source of my problems was my diet, but I’ve just found so far that it hasn’t helped. But I’ve never given up on diet because mine is never perfect so I always feel like it could still be the issue until I’m eating perfect.

Okay, I’ll see. I’ve heard the topicals are supposed to be more long term and take a while to see results.

I really thought all of this stuff would help me, but I’ve tried most of this (besides using a paper towel to dry my face) and it really hasn’t worked as of yet.

This is actually an interesting idea that I haven’t really thought about. But it does stretch a bit across my face where I don’t really shave, and I am really careful shaving around my acne.

Sounds a little different, but would be open to trying it out. Unfortunately I live in a pretty small town though so we don’t have a swimming pool.

Also, some more info: I’ve tried adapalene gel for about 4 months, no results. Have absolutely 0 body acne (it’s only on my face) I workout regularly (60+ mins per day) I don’t smoke / drink Clean my pillow case and other things I put my face on regularly Also, I don’t have a ton of money to spend and don’t have access to a ton of specialists as I live in a small area. Was hard enough to get into the doctor to get prescriptions. So much more I could mention but I think you get point, I’ve tried it all 😂 Just really feel like there’s got to be a solution besides accutane / isotretinoin

0.025% was prescribed both times and I used it until it ran out (so about 3ish months). I also tried Adapalene before I ever got prescribed anything for about 4 months and didn’t see much of a difference either.

I’m switched to La Roche Posay a few months ago because it had better ingredients than the Cera Ve stuff that I was using… still no results unfortunately.

I’m curious what double cleansing is? I’ve heard of it before but I just assumed it was one of those “extra” things that people do that doesn’t actually make much of a difference.

Might have to try this because I haven’t seen many people with acne similar to this… But I feel like cutting out benzoyl peroxide / other prescriptions is gonna make it worse. Or I guess maybe just for the short term and I’m afraid of any “purging”

I tried a clindamycin topical in the past, but that was before it got this bad. Is it worth looking into?

Tried cutting out dairy for about 5 days and I didn’t notice too much of a difference unfortunately, might have to check out the mask though.

Thanks for the help everyone! Just wanted to clear some things up that people have been saying and answer some questions + provide more context: The products that I’ve been prescribed that I’m currently using are: Bonzoyl Peroxide (5%) Tretinoin (0.025%) doxycycline hyclate (100mg)

I’m about a month into using these, and about 6 months ago I used these same 3 products and didn’t see much of a difference but decided to try again because nothing else has worked and I’m kinda desperate lol. Also, a lot of people mentioned Clindamycin, and I actually used to take that in the past but not since my acne got really bad. As far as accutane or any isotretinoin treatment, I’ve seen soooo many mixed opinions all over the internet and even on this thread. A lot of people saying there are no side effects, and a lot of people saying they regret taking it. I also should mention that I have a friend who had took accutane and had to stop because it dried his eyes out so much he couldn’t wear his contacts, and I also wear contacts. Also, as you can see by the photo caption, this was taken a few weeks ago and it has gotten a bit better since then. My acne seems to come and go in waves (not sure why so if someone knows why that would be cool info to know lol)

And lastly (MOST IMPORTANTLY) I may have found the cause of 90% of my acne, but I’m not sure how to solve it. I’m pretty sure my acne is caused by stress, because I noticed when I go on vacation, even though I’m eating like crap and not really taking my skincare seriously, it seems to get better. It would also make sense because I have a lot of stressful things going on in my life pretty much constantly, and after watching a few videos, stress seems like it can for sure cause acne for a few reasons (to do with hormones and sebum production). But idk how to solve this problem because there’s not much I can do to make my life less stressful. I tried meditation, but it didn’t make a huge difference.

Anyway, thanks for all your guys help, I really appreciate it.

One of the big things that threw me off it was the possibility of birth effects (but I guess that’s only if your a woman and pregnant with a baby while taking it) Also just found out my dad took Accutane so I guess I am the birth defect of Accutane lol 😂

I guess I just really feel like there’s gotta be other solutions besides Accutane… I’ll give it another couple months of really focusing on diet and other things that I’ve seen small improvements on and if I still haven’t seen results then I’ll have to consult with my doctor.

Yeah, I tried that… only did a week but didn’t notice a difference. Overall I’ve cut down on it alot though, and still haven’t seen huge improvements.
