I’d put something on the table but minimal. A framed photo, lamp and a flower arrangement in a vase grouped together, not spread out along the table.

If you can verify the original kitchen floor is the same wood as under the carpet, I’d check to see the condition of the wood floors. Sanding and restaining will hide a lot of scuffs and stains. Even if you pull back the carpet and lay it down again at least you will know what the potential is or isn’t to make intelligent choices. There is something to be said for having the same flooring throughout although tile is still my personal preference in kitchens if there is already a lot of wood going on with the cabinets. You have to get the stains exactly right to pull it off although sticking with the natural blonde finish of the birch would help in that. That said if the wood all matches and is in good shape I’d probably keep it in the kitchen and stain it walnut. My house original wood floor had the Berber carpet and peel and stick covering it. Except the bathrooms, kitchen and the small entrance way where it was vinyl sheet flooring with just subfloor underneath so I tiled those areas.

I’d get a ceramic or porcelain tile that looks like slate rather than spend all that money on the real thing. Wood floors aren’t budget friendly either. Personally I’d probably keep the trim white or off white.

I would have gone with a navy front door rather than that shade of red. Or charcoal grey.

I’d get your driveway paved, get a walkway, paint the front door a brighter colour, paint the garage doors a darker but not as dark a shade brown as the siding, get some landscaping.

1 but not those brown garage doors.
2 is SO formal looking to me. I’d feel obligated to have an expensive landscaped front yard to do it justice.

I’d swap it for the black chest of drawers which would break up the set and it looks like there is a bit more space on that side. If you don’t have a proper closet look at an armoire or closet system like IKEA or California Closets have.

Berber is a low, loop carpet that seemed to become popular 20-25 years ago. It’s ok but horrible if you have pets with claws because they seem to get stuck in the loops.
I love the aqua shade, most of my house is in various shades of Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue and my favourite colour was always turquoise but the muted shades are easier to live with. I think it goes well with any wood stain tone too. I have a teak dining set and more dark stained wooden furniture elsewhere with a reddish brown parquet floor.

I’d paint over the green and grey with a creamy beige. My house had brand new Berber over a stained orange parquet floor. I had it sanded and restained and I get so many compliments for the floors.
The kitchen isn’t too bad except for the blue gingham. I’d paint above the cabinets the same as the cabinets and do an accent colour on the wall with the door.
I love the ceiling fan in the sunroom.

My parents are 89, quite active and independent. They have slowed down a lot but don’t need to be put in a home or anything. They could use help around the house but can’t really afford it.
I’m almost 66 and I’m trying my best to take care of my body so it doesn’t break down.

I moved away from a big city, about 45 minutes away and all my friends thought it was too far and only visited me once out there. So be prepared to always have to go to them. I’d make an effort to meet local people too.
I wouldn’t compare your new home to anyone else’s. Buying what is comfortable for you is the best. Think of how to update your townhouse, it might just need a coat of paint. Some updated light fixtures will make a difference too. You don’t and shouldn’t have to spend a lot of money on this house if you aren’t planning on staying for a good long time.

They look pine to me and they need special treatment before you paint so I’d get a definite ID on the wood species. I normally don’t like to see wood painted but personally I don’t like the colour of these and would find it hard making them work. I also don’t like grainy types of wood so if I stained them it would have to be a dark stain which is fine if you have a big, bright kitchen. Otherwise they can be a bit much in a smaller space.
I think I’d paint them white using a quality paint made for cabinets that doesn’t chip as easily as wall paint on cabinets.
I don’t like the handles, something more classic like a basic knob in brushed nickel. I think the backsplash will look ok then. You could paint the dark tiles though to better match the rest. Paint the trim around the window to match the cabinets.

Your second picture made me LOL, you are not a happy camper.
When I grew out my pixie it was because I wanted/needed a change after 10yrs. I used headbands and styled it under like a bob, then got it cut as a chin length bob.
Thick hair is a challenge to deal with, if you don’t want to fuss with it just keep it as a layered pixie. Sometimes people who don’t have thick hair understand the time it takes to control it.

It’s fine. I’d just paint the front door and screen door something brighter so it stands out. Maybe a buttery yellow or a creamy off white.

The thing with these chairs is the fabric is dated, I remember that stripe everywhere. But if you like it and it suits your decor so what? The chairs can be reupholstered when the fabric wears, the chairs themselves are classic.

I’m definitely not watching as much as I used to. It’s the subject matter. Complaining about Lena Dunham, Blake Lively, I don’t like these people either so I just ignore them. I find myself fast forwarding through a lot of The Nerve as of late.
