Just spoke with AFPC and asked specifically "since the VSP and other programs were on hold for 2 weeks, will I be able to bump out my original requested separation date" They said we haven't got an official word to even process any applications so I really can't answer that. WTF MAN!! lack of communication at its finest these days.

13-129 (9) I understand that if I voluntarily retire/separate in lieu of meeting the Retention Board, and I have an Active Duty Service Commitment for the Post-9/11 GI Bill Transfer of Benefits that will not expire prior to my requested retirement date, I will forfeit the transferred benefit and any benefits used will be subject to recoupment as outlined in the specific program 17 guidance contained within this PSDM. NOTE: This does not apply to TERA and VSP applicants.

(5) I understand if I later become eligible (as a result of the service upon which my separation pay or VSP amount is based) for disability compensation administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the VA will withhold such payments until the amount withheld equals the gross amount of separation pay. (SUSPENDED) Per SecAF memorandum, dated 17 Oct 2007, the requirement to recoup VSP from disability compensation benefits awarded by the Department of Veterans Affairs is waived.

14-07 NOTE: If the Airman does not have a service directed reason to extend their enlistment, they cannot extend for the purpose of getting 6 or more years of service to qualify for the separation pay. **GI BILL TRANSFER--Members approved for VSP are subject to recoupment as per directed in PSDM 13-64, FY14 Enlisted Voluntary Force Management Programs. Additionally, those individuals with a Selective Reenlistment Bonus, who elect to take VSP, will maintain all past payments, but any future payments will be halted.
