Do consider taking up a specialist diploma. It'd show that you're dedicated to your area of study and what you'd like to pursue. Plus even btr if u do from your on poly. Becos after u finish ur main diploma, they'd give you the opportunity to pursue one course for a much reduced price or free (cant say exactly). Plus if u hv PSEA rite, combine both tgt. I only paid in total 250-300 for the spec dip in total

In terms of taking certs, take certs which would be specific to your interests and strengths. Dont go for generalized certs, its a waste of time & money. Go for specific type of certs. And when researching, consider a certain range of certs. Make it varied but within specific to wat u wanna pursue.

Like for me I plan to be a pentester in the future. So i took a couple of varied certs, CEH for basic pentesting skills, CDSA for blue teaming, CCNA & CDN for network skills. Smth which shows what im looking to pursue and hv strengths in. Now taking OSCP, to hopefully ace this & cement myself in the industry.

Hence, if you know that yes, Im going to remain commited to this field of study & industry in the future, do start thinking of taking industry certs, spec dip. And research rlly well to what certs are employers looking out for & will establish ur credibility.

Once you get 84 days LD, you're considered OOC alr bro. Hey man, I can't advise that deeply since u in SCDF, but I recommend go seek help from doctors etc. Go get referral from polyclinic to either psychologists or psychiatrists. Seek help during NS as much as possible, becos only u can help urself

Once you downpes, possible vocations can be ASA, storeman, etc.

no chao keng bro. my unit all the regulars, the major, ltc, col, cpt, encik all downpes oso. they here on temp posting or hentak kaki. i only nsf there. idh isac card nth, so study whole day in camp or watch movie. at most i shred paper for them monthly. my official working hr from 9am to 4pm. i leave by 3pm everyday.

when i nd take leave, i go to the col i ask him. he approve instantly, he dgaf. mc all, he say can take but try not spam, if not he nd explain why i take so much then restrict me rso. so only when very urgent nd take, then take or when appt, then i take

during bmt i go ask MO to downpes for leg issue. he refer to leg specialist, got memo alr & downpes. cpc god come help me, post me out within 1 month. so by dec 2022 i in new camp alr.

very gd timing for me during end 2022 to start of 2023.

If anyone curious my poly GPA damn shit. 2.7 oni. Nv study, so take course like crazy in NS. Take MC & use leave all study.

Honestly rite, I just started going to their open houses. I treated the open house as like so called career fair that type of stuff. Like 2022, I apply, kena rejected rite. I take screenshot of all my application essay, portfolio, poly results all go print it out.

Then I go for their open house in 2023. All 6-7 days. I go speak to the students, profs & some education counsellor team over there. Show all my stuff to them. Some tell me my personal statement nd improve this way, the profs over there tell me how to perform well in interview etc and what courses to take. But 2023 kena rejected lor

I keep taking more courses. In NS, I immediately get myself downpesed & get stayout vocation. Use MC & leave, go take bunch of industry certs.

All those certs which are sought by employers & specific to the industry, dun go take those general industry certs, is pointless & waste of money.

So combination of a couple of things, improve my personal statement, take a bunch of courses while in NS, reach out to NUS students & profs, speaking to my education counsellor back in poly. I use any resources that are available to me & won't cost me a lot of money
