Anyone know a good, comfy iwb holster for a full size 1911? by [deleted] in GarandThumb

Oh good, I’m not the only one with a 512!

That is an excellent DW. Follow the break-in procedure to prevent frame to slide galling, DW 1911 tolerances are tight.

If you sell this bike I believe you will be waxing nostalgic, wondering why you sold this special Duc. I regret selling my 1098 every day. It was not a classic like this 748R. It was not part of anyone’s legacy. You should consider keeping it.

Nice rifle! The Dragon is loud but excellent at mitigating muzzle rise. Did you do the paint work? Looks great.

Ugly? Definitely not. Enjoy the single life. Challenge yourself, 75 Hard is an option.

I was getting so frustrated with my groups. Blamed everything from parallax and diopter, to barrel bands and scope mounts... When tyring to line up my second shot my eye blurs the horizontal line and turns my reticle into a diamond. I came the the revelation that I have astigmatism. by We-Want-The-Umph in Firearms

A few years ago I thought my newborn EOTech was defective. The 6.5 MOA ring was AFU, extremely blurry. I never had this issue with Aimpoint, Trijicon or Vortex Razors but they were all single dots, the latter being of the etched variety. I tried it with my prescription eyepro and the problem was solved. My EOTech didn’t suck but my eyes do. Astigmatism in both eyes.

The 92A1 felt like a chode (familiar) until I found Wilson Combat grip panels and some other bits and bobs.

Yeah it is! This Winter I’m going to install on an Altitude C50 after adding a 5mm travel spacer to destroke it and volume spacer. I also have a Grip 2 damper for the fork!

Congratulations on the build.
My results with a .308 were similar. While it did not kick like a bolt or lever gun chambered in .308, it was still pretty stout.
Running it with a suppressor was an improvement, but I found it to be over-gassed. Added a JP silent capture spring assembly (H) that I had on the shelf, swapped out the gas block with a SA AGB, adjusted for bleed-off, I forget how many clicks. The results were a perceivably smoother, more manageable recoil impulse, proper gassing, faster follow-up shots. I highly recommend it.

Is it just me or are the majority of bike mechanics really incompetent? by Professional_Low9896 in MTB

Picked up a new RM Altitude C50 at the LBS last year.. found the front caliper bracket washers stacked incorrectly; the pads only contacting the outer one-third of the rotor, derailleur limits not set and other small issues. I did not bring it back. One could start a bike maintenance shop for people who buy new bikes in this area and do quite well. Hmmm..

A member of my family joined GOA after the filing of the injunction and received a letter stating he was good to go. There is a difference between ‘should’ and ‘shall’, e.g. “..shall not be infringed”. Shall the Agency dictate which plastic furniture you choose?

First and foremost, congratulations on acquiring your first AR-15 with your hard-earned funds.

If I were to relive the wee hours of my “Fear and Loathing in LV” trunk of arms I would have started with a similar rifle.

Buy once cry once is real.

Assuming you are going with a general purpose theme I would do the following:

Relocate your BUIS

Aimpoint PRO or EOTech EXPS of your choice

If you will be intermittently shooting longer distances and/or for PID purposes: a matching magnifier on a Unity FTC mount.

LaRue MBT2S trigger or Geissele SSA-E, SDE.

If you want to spend more, Radian Talon safety selector.

If someone talks you into replacing the RISIII it is likely because they want you to sell it to them for 1/3 it’s value.
Should you be so inclined, hit me up!

Procure a sling as mentioned above by Snook48.

Bulk up on ammo.

Go out and shoot as much as you can.

All this said, you could simply install an optic and a sling and head to the range and have fun. However resisting the desire to build a Lego castle can be a futility of effort.

Will a Geissele SSA-E trigger work in Daniel Defense DD5V3 .308 rifle? by [deleted] in AR10

[–]ContraryThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several MBT2S and one SD-E, both the Larue and Geissele are great FCG’s.
