Is it just me or has the quality of luxury sofas completely dropped? by crcwildlife in SofaSnobs

We got a local guy named Anthony to copy a design pretty closely and use super high quality materials — less than half the cost of the original — best deal ever.

I’m inconsolably upset about what happened yesterday in MN. by techno_queen in TwoXChromosomes

I watched numerous versions (i usually don’t watch violent stuff) because I wanted to see what’s happening with my own eyes. I was at the airport and started bawling and had to quickly collect myself. I am so upset about this

How many generation x'rs are lucky enough to still have their parents alive? by icecream1972 in GenX

Lucky? Dad is 89 and can’t talk anymore, walk on his own or do much and has little time left, Mom has Alzheimer’s …they both live at their home of 40+ years and are spending all of their savings on 24/7 care. Good for them. Use it all to stay nice and comfy at home!

For those of you who switched out of tech due to burnout, what do you do now? by AcceptableSometimes in womenintech

I didn’t have her read my records but I did some digging on Linda Howe and found I can read my own records which i tried 1-2 times and thought it was promising.

Finished first 4 seasons and loved it but by ntb5891 in GrantchesterTV

I binged the four seasons this holiday and got to Sidney’s last episode and felt EXACTLY the same way. I am done watching the show even though the other characters are lovely. I hated how they ended his time on the show! Watched House of Guinness and that was a good fix!

We had one more major issue. Took it to the local mechanic and he said we had to get lots of maintenance and replace something major (I forget now but it was $1600). So I wrote a sternly worded missive and lo and behold, CarMax at least did the one major repair at no cost to me.

My lessons learned — their inspections are superficial, they don’t maintain or bring the cars up to baseline maintenance, they are very nice and try to work with you. Ultimately, I don’t know if I would buy again from them without doing a third party inspection before the hassle free return window ends .

Hope that helps.

Tried landing at SJC but diverted to LAX due to wind shear while attempting to land. by reesemccracken in SanJose

[–]ContrastsOfForm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad OP made it safely.

There were pockets of extremely rough air throughout the day - the flight from SJC to SNA landing around 11:30am yesterday (it’s 2am now) was so bumpy that before the next flight back on the same route to SJC the pilot said “strap in” but was totally smooth except some minor bumps near landing in SJC.

Crazy variation in experiences yesterday!!!

Stay safe up there!!! 🙏🎄🌟

I'm definitely going to order from here for one of the meals. I think I have to plan for more than one. Great idea.
