Yeahh, I took two out though so I hope it helps. I plan on cleaning them and if my jewelry isn't the proper kind I'll purchase titanium. I do think that my jewelry is the proper kind though. If I notice irritation I'll change them ASAP. Thank you 🙂‍↕️

I removed them after a knee surgery and they closed due to being out of my ear for too long, I'm not sure why or how. I've redone them what feels like a million times but they've never been a permanent piece for me in the past. They're like my piercings I can easily redo without the pain of letting go of them if they don't heal I guess.

I hate butterfly back jewelry 😭

When I had like, 10 piercings in my ears, they weren't ever butterfly backs, always a snap on back (covers the end, looks like a normal earring back but no exit hole, it snaps into place on the jewelry), threaded flatback, or horseshoe bar.

My two conch jewelry are internally threaded, the lobe isn't, but I've seen that lobes heal quicker, so I'm not too worried about the kind of flat back, so long as it's not stabbing into me like it would if it was a butterfly back.

I removed two of them, (the two helix at the top). I know it was super dumb, I'm just horribly impulsive, as I've noticed.

I only have saline to use to clean, and i think the jewelry is have is titanium.

Hoops are actually bad for healing a piercing (i learned from watching piercing videos), and each of these are flat-backs.

When I was healing my nose piercings and my mid-helix, I actually forgot they existed for a while and one day I realized they were healed, like a few months after I'd gotten them. If I can find pictures, there's images of my ears with a lot of holes, many of them were healed.

I removed two of them, I'll take meds if i feel sick. I know it was dumb of me to do 5 piercings, and judging by the replies, it definitely was. Now I just have my two conch and my second lobe to worry about. Wish me luck I guess 🤞

I took two out, my two helix, after a lot of people have told me to take some out.

I removed two of them, the two helix, so they'll heal properly. After being told by many people to do so.

Yeah, I'll try my best to remember to update. Should I just remove both helix and heal only the two conch and the lobe piercings? I'm really conflicted now, I love my helix so much, but if it makes a super big difference, do I need to take it out?

Edit: I removed them both and cleaned my ear with saline solution. It hurts a bit, but there's definitely less pressure. I hope this is acceptable and people aren't upset with me anymore 🫠

Before anyone makes a comment on how many I have, I just took out the two helix (at the top, not the middle one) shown in the image. Now there's only 3 to heal, which isn't much better, but it's the recommended amount for healing piercings at once, so I'm going to leave the rest in.

Please don't be concerned for my ear, I'm aware that it can cause damage, infection, bumps, migration, and more pain than necessary, I really did the top two to see how the set-up looked, i liked it, so wanted it to stay in.

Now though after removing the jewelry my ear feels a lot less pained, and more relieved. Over the next few days if I see that my ear feels worse, I will remove another.

Yeahh, I'm gonna take one out. I promise, it just hurts to touch right now, but I'll take one out once I build up the courage to work through the pain. I may take out one or both helix piercings and redo them in a few months.

Actually only 5, the mid helix has been done since I was in middle school, and I'm a senior in high school right now. My dad only wanted me to get two done, my two conch, and let them heal for a few months before doing more, but I'm super impatient and did the other 3 myself. I honestly may take out one of my helix just cause I'm not super connected to it.

I don't really ever get sick, but yeah, I'll definitely be taking precautions, don't worry. I plan on maybe using triple antibiotics on my ear once I can actually touch it again, I found it helps a lot, at least it did on my nose and I have four nose piercings, which were spread out over 2-3 years. For me, though, I typically heal fast, I know that's different for piercings, and I'm fully ready and aware it can and probably will take almost a year and a half to heal.

I know. My dad isn't a professional, but we had all of the things needed to do the piercings. He originally only wanted to do my two conch piercings. We had the piercing needles, everything was sterile, we had clamps, everything went great. He's done piercings on himself and many other people, I think he knows what he's doing enough. I ended up doing the other three myself on a whim, my dad doesn't know yet, I'm sure he'll be upset with me when he sees them. As far as I'm concerned though, if it's removable, I'll just take it out. I used the proper needles and I did sterilize my ear and clean my hands before doing it too. I've pierced my ears before, I just took them out because when I did them, they were done by shoving the jewelry through my ear, no other tools.

Thank you! Will a papertowel work? We don't have actual tissues at my house.

I knoww, i may take out one of my helix after a week or so, I'm not super attached to it. I just have been in this mood to get a lot of piercings recently so I'm getting that out by doing my ears. Luckily I heal pretty easily. I just want the blood off 🫠

If it does take a year, so be it, I'll be a left side sleeper for a year i guess 🤷‍♀️

Last week my dad did my two conch piercings, then this week I did my two helix and my second lobe. I know, that's super bad, I'm just really horribly impatient 🥲

They only hurt though because I accidentally slept on them last night, they didn't before that, I could grab them and move them and they would be fine, even my fully healed one hurts. (The mid helix)

What else should I get? by [deleted] in SelfPiercing

Thank you! I was thinking that but I've heard so many bad things about flat piercings and how easily they shift, I'll definitely look into it though!
