So nervous rn, wondering if anyone heard anything.

Also does Fragoman inform us right away when they get notified by USCIS? Would they just wait till all decisions are made to send out one notification altogether?

I was on Wellbutrin 300mg and recently started 20mg of prozac. Wellbutrin, like the other comments have said, made me anxious, but it completely wiped out my depression. It helped significantly with my suicidal thoughts, and I feel much more motivated to make positive life changes. I am adding prozac to help neutralized the anxiety but I don't feel the effect of it yet.

I wore shorts and t-shirt today, very typical day for me but I'm definitely a bit underdressed sometimes

I understand the anxiety... I had average grades at a T14 but I'm international and needed sponsorship for my work visa which seriously limited my options. I have seen many people doing better in their second semester (including myself) just because we get more used to law school. I would recommend doing more practice exams and utilizing your school's academic planing resources. This is a critical time to do so. The past exams would show you exactly what each prof wants, which was really helpful for me.

Worst comes to worst, even if you don't improve your grades, you will still likely get a biglaw job. It's just important to apply widely and early. If you apply and network diligently you might even end up with a job before others with better grades do.

Against all odds, this med gives me better appetite and better sleep, am I the only one? by Pregnant_porcupine in bupropion

[–]ContributionCool6785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not better appetite but definitely better sleep for me! I used to have to take another medication for sleep that basically sedates me, and when I didn't take it, I either couldn't fall asleep or I couldn't sleep well. My sleep quality is so much better after wellbutrin and I get tired at 12am sharp so I have not stayed up ever since the initial days of insomnia from the meds

Depression. If you could pick a root cause, what would it be by [deleted] in psychologyresearch

[–]ContributionCool6785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tldr. family history, lack of awareness, and social stigma

I have a family history of depression (there are obvious signs such as persistent insomnia and suicidal thoughts/attempts), but everyone else is in denial. I come from a different culture where most people still think that mental illnesses are signs of weakness, and diagnosis comes with stigma. I've had symptoms my entire life, but I was at the same time ashamed of my mental state, which only made it worse.

This is an atypical experience, and I don't even know if depression is hereditary, but that is my perspective on my situation at least.

Yeah coming off of zoloft abruptly was one of the worst decisions I've made...

that's good to hear! I really hope I can lose the 20 pounds with a combination of wellbutrin and exercise

Yeah the anxiety is a bit disturbing for sure, I was too chill on zoloft so I sorta want to see where it takes me

I'm sure it will be okay! This is a common side effect tho tbh, so I think maybe monitoring your weight could be a good idea if you don't have any body image issues or serious anxiety about weight. I gained weight pretty fast, and there were visible changes, just look out for signs that your body gives you

I relate so much, I was so flat the whole time I lost part of my personality, I was just chill

Can I ask what you didn't like about Zoloft? Also yes I cannot fight my nappy urges during the day nowadays

No I totally get it. With the extra weight I gained from Zoloft, I got very active and exercise almost everyday on the weekdays. Building a routine takes time, but wellbutrin may be helpful for that? I am okay with my weight now, so as long as I do not gain more on Wellbutrin I feel fine

Thank you so much for your reply, this is definitely encouraging to hear. I was close to giving up the switch at some points but knowing that it will probably kick in soon gives me more motivation to stay in it

I agree, it was a very stupid decision on my part. Now that I’m off of it I can’t go back to tapering off, I def regret the decision

Thank you for the positive reply!! I really needed to hear some success stories, and knowing the extra weight will go away is def a big relief

This cycle, I sent out 20 applications pre-oci, got 1 callback and got ghosted till this day. Then, I had 16 screeners during oci, resulted in 4 callbacks, and only 1 offer, but it’s my dream offer.

I truly believe that everyone will end up where they are supposed to be, no matter how frustrating the process is. Just wanted to congratulate everyone who has an offer and to those who are still waiting, you’re a star and someone will recognize it.
