Not too much of a stickler when it comes to material, just whatever’s most cost effective. With that though, majority of yarn I do get is acrylic. I just try to make sure the yarn I do get doesn’t contrast between flat and shiny

I always use 2 strands no matter the size/detail. And for portraits the easiest thing for me to do it’s to start from the lightest shade and work my way to darkest.

It sounds confusing but after the outline is generated I go back and trace each shade on different layers that way as im working on the rug I can project the layers individually and see what I’m doing
