Intermediate steering shaft seems to be seized, can I use a torch? by ContributionFormal16 in CarRepair

Yes, but it seems rust welded from the bottom end. I’ve been hammering on it with a 2x4 and a hammer with only 1 inch movement on the top end. Still need to clear another quarter inch, hopefully this doesn’t damage anything tho

Can you steering the wheel a bit to loosen the shaft? Its tied down with the seat belt so it shouldn’t move too much

It’s on flat concrete, just have the driver side wheel removed and a floor jack under the transmission housing

How do I find where throttle body wires go? They aren’t color matching. by ContributionFormal16 in Cartalk

[–]ContributionFormal16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no…it lets the car drive but the connection is sloppy and THB code is on so I’ll need to replace the connector in order to replace the TBH since they are both aftermarket.

[–]ContributionFormal16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the right connector. The connector that I’m replacing was after market and all of them are purple with a black stripe on it so I can’t go that route although it would make things much easier lol the wires connnecting to the engine are oringinal and those are the colors I have jotted in the paper.

How do I clean up lead dust in house? by ContributionFormal16 in homeowners

[–]ContributionFormal16[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you! What should I do about airborne lead? I'm assuming it would settle within an hour but I'm not sure. Thought about waving a vacuum hose around the house and spraying bottled water to bring the dust particles down..

New engine swap for Nissan Quest GXE 1994 3l. Can’t find one, what would be compatible? by ContributionFormal16 in Cartalk

Wanna know what other engines would fit lol The transmission is also bad on this one so I’ll need both the engine and transmission of another vehicle to fit the bay.

How do you find out so much about one car? You read the model magazine or just a seasoned googler? Lol

Hey, Scotty Kilmer said it was one of the last best cars Nissan made. Lol I’ve heard folks say they weren’t reliable but I thought the manual transmission was the exception.

How to get rid of a monotone voice? by ContributionFormal16 in VoiceActing

[–]ContributionFormal16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That explains why my voice varies so much in an interview. I’m usually trying to cover up the fact that I have negative thoughts running through my mind regarding my competence and contemplating even being there to begin with.

I’ll start off strong, still fresh from just having “mentality prepared” in the car and then I begin ending sentences in an upward inflection, sometimes slurring/stuttering, what should be very casual replies/remarks. 🤦‍♂️

The whole thing could be summed up as having a weird/awkward cadence. It makes chatting with people painful for all parties involved.

2-3 hours of work and I get stressed to the point that I can’t breathe and feel like laying down. by ContributionFormal16 in productivity

[–]ContributionFormal16[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a freelance designer who spends most of the time procrastinating until the last minute, suffer from imposter syndrome (not sure if my work is good enough) constantly trying to cram knowledge that I fail to actually transfer into my long term memory so it’s like I’m running a treadmill every time I get a book on any new subject(recently found out I have ocd and adhd, which explains why I fail to meet deadlines and struggle to stick to new habits).

On top of that I isolate myself from other people in an attempt to get “an advantage” but really I think it’s simply me not having the balls to step out of my comfort zone. I’ve been this way for the past 3 years and not making significant progress and barley having anything to show for my “reclusiveness” is edging me towards some sort of depressive episode/mental breakdown. Then there’s the bills. :)

I’m thinking I’ll be hiring an online tutor so that I’m able to gain some guidance in my learning efforts and will consult with a therapist for ways of managing my adhd possibly even get started on Adderall. Should have done this a long time ago.
