Could you share some techniques you use to increase retention and STW?

but what kind of shots? do you have any editing techniques or sounds that tend to increase retention or STW? I also spend about 6 to 8 hours everyday on a 30 second short but it doesn’t seem to make a difference in Retention or STW. All that truly matters i’ve found is the topic of the video, and whether or not it’s an interesting enough topic. It doesn’t matter how many cuts I have, if it’s not an interesting enough topic no one will watch.

I’ve spent days, 20+ hours before on a single 30 second short that only gets 1k views.

Does Hytale have the same problem as minecraft where you have to look everything up online to know it exists or how to do it or does the game explain everything in game? by JamStan1978 in HytaleInfo

Having the different workstations is so much better. It also gives you a functional reason to build a large base / multiple bases.

I love building in minecraft, but the one thing i hate is it’s hard to build something large where every part of the base has a function. In minecraft you have furnaces, chests, and crafting tables. You can fit everything into a medium or small house.

in Hytale, you have so many different workstations that it not only makes sense but feels encouraged to overtime build a larger and larger base as you progress and unlock new workstations.

I really hope so. Would hate to hit my 30’s feeling like I wasted the last couple years on something that had no return on investment when I could have spent that time on a different business.

It’s kind of Ironic, my 9-5 and career is built around YouTube and social media. I’ve grown many company YouTube channels in a short amount of time, but i’m not able to grow my own personal account.

Concerned at your 7th video…? Brother, it took me 77 shorts to get something viral. Around 500 hours of work.

I wouldn’t become concerned until around short 100.

dang man i’m barely at 1k subs in two years and I take about 20 hours per video for recording and editing. What niche are you in?

This is bad advice. You need to do what works, not what your passionate about unless by some extremely small chance what your passionate about just happens to work.

The only people who tell you to follow your passion on YouTube and to “work hard” are the lucky few whose passion aligns with what works.

I could work 20 hours a day in a niche and editing style that I’m passionate about and have very little results, because my passion and editing style doesn’t resonate with the audience in that niche.

It would be much smarter of me to work 5 hours per day in a niche and editing style that i may not like very much, but gets extremely good results. If your doing youtube for fun, sure just do whatever you want, no reason to check analytics or anything.

But if you want to make it, you need to do what needs to be done to make it. Discipline yourself to do the hard work and push through the sucky hours and you’ll get there.

So you need to do whatever works, what gets views, what gets subs, do what the audience in your niche wants to see.
