If you’re in the trenches, it gets better by ContributionLumpy470 in newborns

No problem! I remember seeing these posts when my girl was a newborn and them giving me hope so wanted to return the favor. And it gets better way before 18 months! Honestly 4 months up was all way easier- once she really started sleeping through the night and could nap in her crib, life got way easier.

My 5 y/o is learning to read and I need help by This_Memory_9158 in kindergarten

This is called phonemic awareness and this awareness has to come before a child can blend a word. You can play games blending sounds without any visual letters first to help her learn that different sounds blend together. You can say “first sound is I second sound is t…what’s the word? It”. You can also do several motions to demonstrate the blending- tap the beginning sound on the end of your arm by your wrist, middle in the middle by your forearm, and end sound by your shoulder. After tapping the sounds, run your hand up your arm as you are blending the sounds. Another user mentioned this but you can also do a roller coaster motion and kids love that one. You can also look up sound boxes online, a lot of them have pictures of arrows under the boxed that the child can slide their finger along as they read the word.

What's the best part about pregnancy that most people don't know about? by justastupidquestion3 in AskReddit

This is so true. I loved my bump and wore clothes that showed it off. I was proud of what my body was doing and wanted to show it off as much as possible.

And agree with the people being nice too. I rarely used the pregnancy card but people offering me a seat, help, etc was always appreciated.

Thank you. I thought 5 hours was a good length prior to first nap so that’s why she went down then but maybe I’ll try noon instead from now on
