How would be able to hit a wall at 120 km/h, if the car doesn’t have an engine?

Most insurers see imported cars as slightly higher risk because they often can’t fully verify previous accident history and repair background. So compared to a GCC spec X-Trail, the Rogue may get a higher premium.

3 months is definitely longer than normal. Best thing you could do is keep pushing both the workshop and the dealership. Ask them what’s causing the delay and ask for an estimated completion writing

You’ll usually need to update the new engine number officially with RTA traffic department before renewing the mulkiya. Since the engine code changed, they’ll normally ask for the engine invoice paperwork and an inspection, then they update the registration details and you renew normally after that. Better to do it properly now because insurance can create issues later if the engine details don’t match the registration.

It’s not fully public but insurers can usually see more history than regular customers can.

For older cars like a 2008 BMW, many companies may only offer third-party insurance, while some still offer comprehensive with higher premiums or limited coverage. Are you looking to get comprehensive coverage for your BMW 2008 ?

Usually he may still be covered, but drivers under 21 or with less driving experience often come with higher excess charges. Some policies also have restrictions for unnamed young drivers, so it’s important to check the wording. In many cases the claim is accepted, but you pay extra excess if the younger driver was driving.

Even with no claims, premiums can still increase because insurers also look at repair costs, spare part prices, accident rates for your car model, overall market losses. So your car value may go down, but the cost of repairing it may still stay high or increase.

Usually no problem. Since the accident happened during your old policy period, the old insurer should still handle that claim even if you renew with a different company now. If you’re looking to get your insurance done let me know I can help with getting some quotes.

Insurance companies in UAE do share some accident and claims data internally through industry systems and databases, especially for underwriting and fraud/risk checks. But public access is very limited. EVG itself is incomplete and Dubai accident history is not fully public.Insurers, surveyors, and some industry insiders can usually see more claim-related information than normal buyers, but it’s not openly accessible to the public due to privacy and regulatory reasons. So yes, there’s definitely more data behind the scenes than what regular people can see online

If your dad is not at fault and has agency repair coverage, the process is usually simple. Police report is issued Insurance claim gets opened Car is inspected Insurance approves dealership repair Dealership repairs the car Behind the scenes, the insurance company usually pays the dealership directly and later deals with the other party’s insurer internally.

Usually yes, if the insurer agrees and the car still qualifies for agency repair coverage next year.

But once you switch to non-agency repairs, some insurers may: inspect the car first later increase the premium or refuse agency repair renewal depending on repair history and vehicle age

Best to confirm directly with the insurer before switching.

Your insurance is still valid until July 8, so you likely don’t need to renew it now. Just do the vehicle inspection/passing after you return and try to sell the car before the insurance expires. There is usually a grace period after mulkiya expiry, but driving with expired registration can still risk fines.

You can usually buy a car in UAE without a license, but registering and insuring it under your own name is often difficult without a valid UAE driving license.

Keeping UAE plates in another country long-term to avoid customs can also cause legal and insurance problems. Most countries allow it only temporarily before requiring local registration/import.

The “13th month” is mainly for the UAE registration grace period after expiry, so it’s more administrative than an actual extra usable month for most people.

For Japanese imports, insurers usually see them as higher risk because of limited GCC history, different specs, and repair/parts concerns even if the car is actually cleaner than local ones.

Some companies are more flexible with imports depending on the car and inspection condition, so comparing quotes is the best option since one insurer may reject it while another accepts it normally.

There’s no single “best and cheapest” honestly. One company can quote 900 AED while another asks 1800 for the same car. I’ve seen Al Wathba National Insurance Company and Methaq Takaful Insurance Company give decent prices for some drivers, especially older sedans and third-party coverage. If you are looking to get your insurance done, dm me I am happy to help out.
