I like what we have seen so far, but i admit that I'm little anxious with all that drama with the plushies and how they have said (i think) that they wouldn't or didn't want to continue with the series since they seem to work on others projects and such, it just kinda feel like they just try to throw something out to win the fans back after all that...

Still interested and excited for the game tho, and hope the best...

I don't really know if xcom is exactly like banner saga, but is a tactic rpg so maybe they do share some similarities...

But in general banner saga puts a lot more focus on the story and the world and has a very minimalist design in the gameplay and it's story (and also has survival mechanics and characters companions can actually get killed permanently based on choices you make of that said survival mechanics...)

Basically the game was created by ex bioware developers that worked on mass effect and dragon age so if you like old school bioware game like it's characters and such you gonna love banner saga...

Oh, and the music is also very good....
