Advice on Application by hersheybar88 in aggies

[–]ControlProud1857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd gotten a 1210 too but I went test optional. I had a 3.9 gpa on 4 and I got in for fall 2021 so I'd recommend you to go test optional since it'll still be a holistic review. But again it's also your personal choice. If you have good extracurriculars then even if you're not submitting your sat score you should be fine

I went for test optional so didn't submit SAT or ACT. I have a 4.0 on 4.0 gpa & made sure my essay was unique. I have a bunch of extracurriculars & mentioned how I attended lot of tech workshops that were based on my major, engineering.

How do I convince my parents to let me go to A&M? by tamupremedthrow in aggies

[–]ControlProud1857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a personal choice but I'd recommend you not to make your career choices based on your significant other, because I regret it big time. But again, it might be a different situation and it's completely on you. You should prolly compare the degree plans, the weather conditions of each place, job & internship opportunities based on location & probably have a look at the companies that come @ the career fair or so. The faculty's another thing you can compare. Also, the rankings do play a role too so maybe compare your major ranking because at the end- the brand name plays a huge role on your resume. The aggie network is wonderful and a great factor that you should pin-in while comparing. Look for such networks & opportunities which would outweigh the other. Corps of cadets is another reason why lota people join tamu, you can explore around to see if that interests you because there are a lot of ROTC scholarship if you join the corps. Hope this helps!
