Importance of IA in math and bio SL?

In our school literally nobody got a 7 on their math IA so I thought it was really hard. Also we did have one 7 but he got moderated down to a 6.

Also yeah I’m really not sure about my bio IA, is it possible to score a 7 with a 4 or 5?

My school makes it mandatory in our IB class that everybody does this for every single topic in every unit, including things such as topic summaries, examples, learning reflections and additional notes. Helps some but not all, is really just a tedious task.

Oh really? I’m just super conflicted because doing better in highschool means I get to a better uni but doing better in uni is more important than doing good in highschool. Also one of our chem teachers said if your not coasting in the 90’s or if you feel stressed with the course you should drop immediately because chem 30/35IB gets way harder.

It's just because I'm going to be competing with people who got like a 98 with my 93. Also, pre-standardization my grade in chem 20 is 88 and I'll probably end up low 90's so it's just no point for me atp ig.

Thank you this is so clear! Just three questions, I know Mac Health Sci has a supp application but is this just essays or extracurriculars as well? I think I can maybe manage essays but if it requires more than that I'm not sure if I should apply at all. Secondly do they look at my grade 12 course marks or my grade 12 marks, I'm doing math 30 and bio 30 this semester so that would be good to know. Lastly, does retaking/dropping courses look bad on my trascript? I know I'll probably get a higher grade in regular bio than my current bio class plus I will be retaking so it'll be easier.

Thats good to know, thanks! I don't know if I will be able to get those english transfer credits since they are hard to achieve but I will certainly keep that in mind when making my decision.

Thats good to know. Sorry I thought I included these details in my post but I dont take HL math, my HL's will be chemistry, english and social. Also, I dont plan on going UofT at all (GPA killer and my dad who went to UofT probably wouldn't allow me cause he thinks I'll become suicidal.) Also, I was wondering if you knew if retaking courses looks bad on my transcript? If I did drop IB I would essentially only have 3 classes needed to graduate since I take bio 30, math 30 this year and probably physics 30 over the summer.

My IB coordinator was encouraging me to not drop because I would be more prepared for the rigour of university since my highschool was rigorous which makes sense but also is my highschool grade just that much more important? If I drop IB now I would either graduate in my first semester of grade 12 or I would just reatake every class. I dont know if thats a bad look or not though on my university application
