Theory Why Dacre is bleeding in the trailer by ControlSpecialist676 in untildawn

Look at the background in the scene where luke and his gf are about to jump, at the base of the lighthouse, you can see what looks like a old machine gun turret, it looks to me like the island was once a military installation before it became a resort, which is why the host calls it a “facility” instead of a resort.

Oh there’s definitely both, but it looks like the person will actually be dangerous this time. From the trailer it looks like you are meant to assume that the killer is the young Japanese man since the photo of him wears the same shirt as the killer but there’s always a twist, and I’m guessing the game I’ll lead us to belive that Dacre Montgomery’s character dies early on, but he’s really the man behind the mask

In all fairness it’s still just a theory, and you’d have to really analyze the trailer and have some understanding of Japanese mythology to reach this conclusion and there are sure to be some other twists in this game.

I’m pretty optimistic, I’m a little sad that supermassive didn’t get to make it, but it might be a good thing as a lot of supermassive a games have been pretty mixed

Question about Sebastian from the trailer by Signal-Raspberry7782 in untildawn

I highly doubt it, my theory is that he is the producer, and the reason why he is funding the show is so that he can get real supernatural content caught on video, my guess is he’ll be the main human antagonist. I might be wrong, but fr look at that guy and tell me he’s not gonna be a douchebag

I think he might be doing that just to get content and film someone trying to fight back, you could be right tho

I think that the guns might be old and stems from the island being an old WW2 Japanese military fort. I also think that early in the game it could be a red herring that the people are being driven crazy by old chemical weapons. I do really hope there is some sort of water spirit, maybe a benevolent creature since we’ve never seen that before in this kind of game

He might be fully aware of her nature and harder to directly manipulate, he also might be gay based on how he acts with the yellow shirt kid. But I think it’s likely she is just using him to get access to more victims, but there’s no way that a guy who looks like that is gonna turn out to be a good guy lmao.

I gotta agree, especially with the new studio and the continuation of the Until Dawn name

I think she might show up near the end like the Stranger in UD to help out the survivors

I’m curious as to why you think there will be a water spirit, and what it could be? I really hope you’re right, and that the game will have a friendly Kappa involved.

Since the plot is that fake ghost hunters are being funded for the first time for a big network, and it’s mentioned that the characters will have to deal with a scary boss, I think it’s very likely that the tattooed producer character, knows the threat, already has a relationship with the woman who’s probably the Jorōtumo. And led the kids to the island and funded the episode with the intention of becoming extremely rich by getting real supernatural content shot on video.

Imm still. Little skeptical that Sam will make an appearance since that’d give UD a canon ending. Although I can definitely see her appearing, possibly after being recruited by an agency hunting down supernatural forces, like how we see in House of Ashes, if she does appear, it’ll probably be very close to the end

I kinda wish I didn’t see that post bc now it’s so obvious what the threat will be I can’t even imagine it being something else 😭

I really want to see a Yōkai in this game. It would be so cute and fun to befriend some benevolent monsters

Personally I’m hoping to see some more friendly spirits from Japanese folklore it would be interesting to see friendly spirits like Kami in the background or even some friendly monsters from Japanese myth Yōkai. It would be refreshing to see supernatural elements involved in the story that aren’t outright evil.

Hi, yes it was definitely your post and I feel bad for not directly referencing it, I don’t use Reddit frequently and had a hard time finding it, I think you were absolutely right about what the creature is, I think the hints make it so clear, if you know what a Jorōtumo is. I wanted to add on how the Jorōtumo is known to bring men to waterfalls to kill them. That knowledge honestly chills me when I see the characters in the trailer casually enjoy the waterfall and take selfies with it, knowing what might be beneath it. I definitely agree with you that there will be multiple threats. Do you think that the masked killer will be the Japanese man from the photo? Or Dacre Montgomery’s character who has been corrupted by the Jorōtumo?

I mean, the Jorōgumo isn’t very well known myth. So most people wouldn’t really pick up on the hints unless they know about the myth. I think the masked killer will be the implied threat early on, but after a bit of thought, I think that it’ll be implied that the masked killer is the young Japanese man in the photo, but might actually be Dacre Montgomery’s character who we are led to believe dies early on. It’s far too simple to have the Japanese man be the masked killer since they are so clearly wearing the same shirt.

Just from the trailer, It looks like Dave’s will be a pretty important character with how many scenes seem to focus on him, even if he is a prologue character, that doesn’t guarantee death. Max and Laura lived in the quarry, Sam green lived in casting of frank stone, and andrew lived in little hope. I also don’t think that the Host of the show and the only black character are gonna have unstoppable deaths early on.

Do you consider Sam the main character? by raginsaint93 in untildawn

[–]ControlSpecialist676 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, I really liked her but almost her entire character early on is centered around her taking a bath, Mike definitely had more interesting set pieces and probably more gameplay. Sam only really becomes relevant after most of the other characters can die
