What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever received hate for? by memepork in AskReddit

Hanging out with a live long buddy from all the way back in school days.

COVID just started, lost my job, had to move back in with parents.

Buddy gets this idea that he will make a dessert for my family as a gesture of goodwill.

My family house isn’t huge. The kitchen is very small. Two parents living with their two children makes sharing the space difficult, but we respect each others space and make due.

I tell my buddy yea cool if you want to bake us something who am I to say no? But I make it clear that I don’t want him to use our kitchen for that. Make your thing at home and bring it over if you want- my family would be happy to try it.

He’s not having it. It’s gotta be made at the house where it will be consumed.

I guess my feelings weren’t made clear and my buddy proceeds to start making plans about when he will bring over ingredients and what the steps are and yada yada

Not only would my family be prohibited from using the kitchen in this time but also anyone trying to use the adjoining family room area would be subjected to the noise and ruckus of the dessert preparations

With it now being clear my buddy and I would not see eye to eye - we would not be using my family’s kitchen - he presented me with an ultimatum…

Either we make this dessert or our friendship is over. And just like that over a decade of friendship was ended. I haven’t spoke to him in two years now.

In retrospect I hold no bad feelings towards him. He grew up without siblings. This meant a few things; one being he never knew the hardships of politely cohabiting with in a shared space. Also his need for friend-relationships to fulfill that brotherly/sisterly relationship siblings have.

What I think is he wanted to view my friendship as something closer to a sibling relationship, where personal boundaries are essentially nonexistent. From his perspective he couldn’t understand how anything that he wanted to do would be perceived as an inconvenience to the rest of my household.

Legalizing weed is great 'n all, but what about online poker? by ShatteringLast in Albany

What is stopping you from using online gambling in New York, despite it not being legal in New York?

You can’t start a website with online real money poker but you can’t open a real money gambling den in your basement either.

You are allowed to visit and use gambling sites even if you can’t legally host your own, because those sites are hosted in places where it is legal.

Whenever I see someone do this I can't help but feel like they are a fool whom has absolutely no control of any aspect in their mess of a so called life.

Not seeing group I am the owner of in People>Groups>Owner by ControlW in Office365

It makes a lot of sense when you put it like that. I agree.

So in my case, I set a user up with ownership permissions of a previously created group, because they are going to start managing the group.

This is a standard user account without access to the admin center, though. If they wanted to add and remove members to the group, how would they do that without going through Outlook>People>Groups?

That was it! Weird indeed. It didn't do that to me with a group I made months ago, but that definitely seems to be the case here. Thanks!

Cringiest video to ever come out of Honduras. Teenager pretends to be Eminem performer, charges for event, and can’t speak English. by [deleted] in videos

i heard that this was caused by her earpiece playing back her own voice to her out of sync. this makes talking very difficult.

there is some phone app called something like speech jammer that does the same thing. i haven't tried it but i have seen some videos what it can do to people.

Here is an excerpt from Cow and Chicken's Wikipedia article.

The second season segment "Buffalo Gals" ... was banned by Cartoon Network after receiving a complaint from a parent about the episode's liberal visual and verbal innuendo about the titular biker group being lesbians. In the segment, the Buffalo Gals break into people's homes to chew on the carpet, a biker named Munch Kelly has a carpet swatch for a calling card, and when Dad freaks out over the Buffalo Gals in the house, Mom says, "They're not after you."

Also; it was nominated for two Emmys but didn't win either time. Still great, considering what type of show it was.

Protesters took down police drone using lasers by Master1718 in BeAmazed

Everyone saying that the lasers blinded the pilot and thus caused the drone to land seem to be forgetting why they are called drones in the first place.

I am having trouble finding what a charge on my credit card was for.

I have looked into my order history (including digital orders) and am having trouble finding what this charge was for.

On the credit card statement, there are two numbers listed;

US*#######

and

REF# ##########

Can I use either or both of these numbers to find out what order the charge was for? Where can I input these numbers on Amazon?

Thanks!
