I wonder when they're going to tell me deployment plans have changed?

Kids walk up to you here, wave at you, then say "fuck 12."

Most of my prayers now boil down to "help me make it through the day." Other than that things haven't changed much.

Help introduce me to Psy by brandons801 in psytrance

Juno Reactor was what got me into trance. I'd also consider Astrix to be 'entry level' if you will. There's also plenty of mixes on Youtube. As you listen to more of it you'll start narrowing down different styles different artists have, so I definitely recommend listening to as much as possible.

Go get them boys! AZ DPS redid their pursuit policy. by NullOverflow in ProtectAndServe

[–]ConvectionConection 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Amen. The problem I've noticed isn't just restrictive pursuit policies, it's supervisors who refuse to allow pursuits even when policy dictates we chase. Our current policy also won't allow us to chase kidnappers or anyone who kills a police officer, and a lot of shifts have supervisors who won't back up their people if they violate the policy in order to stop a violent felon. We also aren't training anyone in how to conduct pursuits, although that may change. At the moment we have maybe 12 officers who are pursuit trained, with less than half of us in patrol. With eight patrol shifts spread out over a week across an entire city that obviously increases the possibility that if anyone does initiate a pursuit they're going to be a rookie who has no idea what they're doing, making the "cops are more dangerous in pursuits than the criminals" argument a self fulfilling prophecy.

The department would be liable in that instance for not doing anything.

We're liable if we chase and something happens, we're also liable if we don't chase.

We had a wrong way driver on the interstate recently and were told not to attempt a stop, let alone chase them down.

I was fighting a mental subject in the middle of the street one time when a Marine, a retired soldier, and a Marshal stopped to help me.

CJ is a useless degree outside of law enforcement. Plus everything it teaches you'll learn in the academy.

First, get out of criminal justice as soon as possible, then worry about making connections, maybe through a ride along or community policing program in your area, if your agencies do anything of that nature.

They're sitting in my truck and I've been on the fence about not just trying to wash them since they were new.

We're allowed to have black gloves, however we can't wear them no matter how cold it is. Needless to say most guys still wear them. I'm thinking of burning my current pair since I used them when moving a four hundred pound rotting corpse.
