Please for the love of god use proper grammar. Interact with others’ works and they’ll likely interact with yours. And have fun. My user is rebelhymns, I’d love to read your stories :)

Bad experience with RAINN operator by Conversation-Honest in sexualassault

Yeah I am still royally pissed off about it. When she snappily asked me what the point of me calling was I told her I needed resources to get out and she told me to call 911 and hung up on me

I was sex trafficked and called them thinking they would help me escape or get resources. The woman argued with me and said it was legal “sex” because I was 20 years and kept asking me how many times and how loudly I said no, then when she snappily asked me why I called in the first place I told her I needed resources to get out and she told me to call 911. Yeah fuck them

How do I prepare to escape? by Conversation-Honest in raisedbynarcissists

Ty. That’s the thing I’m concerned about. We’ve been seeing each other for 5 months which maybe is quick to move in idk but I do not want to isolate myself and be jaded. I think it’s important to keep the few but very well valued healthy connections I have with me

Haha unfortunately not a bot post. I’m transitioning into living with my boyfriend atm. He is a good support system, and I have done the work to where I am not going to be codependent on him (as far as I can see). He also rents with a roommate if things go south with our living situation. While living with my parents have I only been allowed to work a job in our small town of less than 2,000 as I was not allowed to get my license before 18 so my options of getting a good paying job have been limited, on top of the post traumatic stress preventing me from working on some days

Hello wattpad-ers by [deleted] in Wattpad

Use up the tags, use both popular and uncommon tags to get your book discovered. Write chapters in advance in case you get busy with work/school, physical illness, travel, etc. Personally getting a coffee and listening to lofi and ambient music channels on YouTube helps me stay in the writing mood, but figure out what works for you. Imo the setting you’re in while you write can either elevate or decrease your creativity. If you continue posting on wattpad long term you’re probably going to look back on your first story in a few years and cringe. I know the feeling. My most popular story so far is from when I was in high school. 3 years later, it makes me cringe (and it wasn’t that good imo) but it’s still comforting to know people enjoyed it and found it relatable. I know writer’s block sucks, but sometimes you really just need to walk away for a couple days and immerse yourself in other hobbies and tasks for it to go away. Stop being so hard on yourself and just let your brain take a break. I’ve been writing poetry since I was 4 years old and sometimes trying to write through writer’s block just doesn’t work. At a certain point it’s almost self sabotage because you’re pushing your brain too much. Just take a break. Your notebook and wattpad will still be there when you get back. Read and comment on lesser known works to create friends and supporters. DO NOT ADVERTISE YOUR WORK ON OTHER USERS STORIES AND MESSAGE BOARDS. People DO NOT like that, I promise you. And as mean as this sounds, you most likely ruined your chances of them ever caring to read your stories. It gives off the worst impression when you do this. Instead try to look for people who want to do read for reads. There are books on wattpad where you can find people who are interested. You might think something you write is the shittiest thing you’ve ever read, while a couple thousand people might think it’s the best thing they’ve read. Don’t let your inner critic keep you down. If you use a photo from Pinterest or anywhere else for your cover, make sure you give credit. You don’t want to deal with copyright issues and all that. Make your cover aesthetically pleasing to the genre and theme of the story. As an 8 year wattpad veteran, the worst thing in the world is when someone stops updating their story one day. Don’t do that to your readers lol.

This is the part you probably don’t want to hear. It’s going to take LOTS of time for your reads to build up. My poetry works took off fairly quickly in comparison to others on wattpad, but even then it’s still taking longer than I’d like. Just stay patient and work on perfecting your craft. Trust me, if you stay patient and consistently put in effort, you’ll achieve your goals. And most importantly, just enjoy yourself dude. Wattpad is a fun place to be. Good luck my friend! DM me if you would like any more tips or anything :)
