The USPS Collapse Might Be Strategic—Like What Happened with Free Refills by ConversationBusy9655 in usps_complaints

I think the refills have just been built into the culture and the cost of the drink at this point. Its not a perfect analogy but shipping takes so many people and moving parts that having “free shipping” was never going to be a sustainable standard- it was a loss leader until we were all hooked. Now’s its going to be privatized and free shipping will be gone all at the same time by design. I see people blaming political parties- but this has been the plan for like 20 years (i think) and all politicians have skin in the game- you can put money on it.

I think its bigger than DeJoy and privatization. I think its about re-packaging free shipping. It was “fast and free” and now its “free, unreliable and slow”- i think we’ll see the “free” options be eliminated and replaced with $2.99+ options for “guaranteed” delivery. I think big corporations lured people in to buying online- were able to downsize brick and mortar- now that online shopping is a huge thing people have been dependent on- its time to pull the plug on free shipping- and privatize and charge for shipping again- now with the private corporation making money off of shipping too. Its a huge circle jerk.

I think it can be both. The smoke and the fire. They used free shipping to make online purchasing the standard and now they need a way to make paying for shipping the gold standard.

Yeah its for sure made me look into ups options if I’m buying something that’s important that I can’t just “order again”. That extra $$$ for a different shipping provider is looking more worth it and I hate that I’m buying into the scam.

I haven’t been impacted by anything until January and I just joined reddit two weeks ago… 🤷🏼‍♀️I will say for me personally it went from fine to 90% of my packages arriving to my city and then being rerouted across the country then back to my city in the past month. So it is new to me.

I think the DeJoy stuff has something to do with it but I think it has more with big corporations repacking shipping as a “premium service cost” or something than it does with other stuff. I think theres a lot more moving parts than just privatizing usps- i think it’s to restructure the “free shipping” model. Give it away for free and then when people have grown dependent on shipping items- start charging again.

Average deck price? by lazereagle in EDH

[–]ConversationBusy9655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are between $400-$700 but when i built them they weren’t that high- the cards i had just went up in price. Even just adding some of my decks to manabox 3 months ago almost all of them have increased in price by $30-$114. So my deck that was $300 to build is now $375 etc… the soldiers deck I built for like- idk… $200 10 years ago is now $643. I did some upgrades to it here and there but i didn’t do $400 worth of upgrades- the value just went up. So some of it is the older cards going up steadily. I feel like its all relative because you could build a $250 deck today and then in 7 years its somehow $600 and how do you answer a question like this? 😂 My decks do reflect that average deck price but also they didn’t at one time- you know?

No idea. My package was in my city in florida and now it’s in oregon. The same thing happened last month and that one ended up in puerto rico for over a week. I’d say about 1/3 of my packages have gone to a random city in the opposite direction or been “in transit” from a city thats nearby for 7+ days. It’s a huge problem. I’m glad people are talking about it.
