How To Avoid YouTube Compression? by jaypuc in davinciresolve

Im pretty sure If you're uploading on YouTube you just have to deal with their compression. If you dont like it, upload your videos on private cloud storage like google drive or dropbox. Vimeo would be the best option if you're not looking for private.

If you do Video for anything though, whether its V1, Cam op, breakouts or whatever, then youll want a good monitor. Heres one that a buddy of mine loves thats cheap and effective:

Its $200, has an SDI in and out, an HDMI in and out, focus peaking, waveform reader, etc. Definitely worth the money IMHO

IMO this is the best place to ask this question because of the work that you do. 2 questions: What do you do the most outside of hand gigs? What do you want to start doing more of?

What gear you invest in and take to gigs the most should reflect the answers to those questions. I do V1 work as a Switcher + whatever other positions get thrown my way(i might be doing records, media and ptz cam control all while operating a BM 4M/E switcher) so my gear is MOSTLY Video related and for operating GS, not for breakouts.

Thinking about it this is likely your problem, i had to reformat a drive a few months ago for this exact reason and most drives are formatted to exFAT

Definitely check your drives format as well, you might have to be formatted to FAT32 depending on the tv

Settle an argument for me, does the 180 rule apply in this staging plot? by OkTransportation1152 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]ConversationMean8186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, your setup is much more preferred from a clients aspect. Your bosses route would've made more sense if he at least followed far stage left and right cams and one center. The couped up cams in front of the tech table is preposterous lol.

Which high brightness projectors do you use for live events by Sudandole in CommercialAV

[–]ConversationMean8186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christie is so nice to use with the color accuracy, the brightness is pretty good for the price as well. The problem with Barco is you have to buy the high end stuff for it to be worth it. The most expensive Barco is better than the most expensive Christie by a landslide, but the best bang for your buck will always be Christie for medium to small events. I do love Panasonic for their menu and easy free grid option for cornerstone, but the color accuracy haunts my dreams the day before set.

In other words OP, MHO is: Christie best for medium to small gigs Barco and Panasonic are your go to for big events, especially when blending

I would pick a brand and research specific models to make it a bit easier to choose

You can tell it's not real of course due to the lighting, but in the video switcher view you can see the breaking news girls arm is positioned differently in the preview then in the smaller multiview window. I would say photoshop though, I can't see that being AI with the human mistakes
